Recommended Posts

I am wonderign if anyoen else has expereined this issue.

I had my first fill 2 1/2 weeks ago, all of a sudden after I swallow (even well chewed food) I will feel this pain in my back? This can even be after the first bite? WOndering what it could be?

I have been trying to eat consciously eat slwoer, smaller bites, etc. Still happens. It is not as if I am not hungry because I am. I am following the directions well. no snacking, Protein first, etc.

Anyone else expereinced this?

Hi my doctor said this occurs in the beginning because when they do this surgery they are messing around near the diaphram the nerves there are related to the nerves in your back so until you are completely healed you may have a flare up now and then this is also a sign of overeating but that doesn't sound like what your feeling good luck

Chances are you are to tight. You need to call your Dr, asap and see about getting a little removed. You can get tighter after 2 weeks. That is why generally Dr.s will only do 1 fill a month or longer between. Some times your band will tighten because of stress or that time of the month. If your not better by Mon. Call your Dr. If it gets worse this weekend call his emergency number. Keep us posted please.

I went through the same thing. I thought it might be too tight. But had food stuck. It was very painfull. I could drink liquids but when I would eat soild foods it would hurt so bad that the only relieve was to get it up. You need to call your doctor and get it checked out.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
