Think I have stuffed up!

Recommended Posts

We went out for dinner last night and I mindlessly drank a rather large glass of red wine without even noticing it!

I am really upset with myself and am now hoping that I haven't stuffed this whole pre diet up.

It has been a huge wake up call for me. How can anyone drink a whole big glass of wine and not even taste it or realise they have drank it! :(:scared2::)

I have tried to call my dietitian this morning, but I'd say that they are closed today.

I don't know what to do!!!!

deal with it and learn from it

you will not do that again

it is easy to forget and drink quickly or eat too quickly

hope you will be okay

bella, if this one glass of wine is really and truly you're only pre-op diet slip up, and you obviously weren't going to surgery this morning, in my opinion, don't sweat it. If nothing else, take a brisk walk tonight to burn a few of those extra calories that you weren't suppose to take in. If this was something you were habitually doing, or you ate a big slice of cake or downed a milk shake, I'd have a different opinion. Just remember how bad you feel today about it, and hopefully, it'll be a lesson learned to think and plan ahead next time you go out for dinner.

Good luck with your surgery. When are you scheduled?

I wanted to add that after you are banded you will not mindlessly drink a full glass of anything

so things will get better

Learn from it Bella and move on. Don't beat youself up over it. I can assure you there are no Saint Banders here. We have all made some mistakes. The thing is not to repeat it and to move on.

Good luck

Thanks for your replies ladies! I am just a bit of a stresser and was really cranky with myself for slipping up.

I have spoken with my dietitian and she said it will be fine and that I can still rid myself of the glucogen (sp??) stores before Thursday.

Hey Kiz - yep Thursday is the big day. I can't wait. I am so sick of being so hungry all the time!

Thanks again everyone,

Bel

I had my surgery on a Thursday too. It worked out well for me. My husband worked from home Friday, and then I had the weekend to recuperate with him home to wait on me..lol

As far as doing something mindlessly, I think most of us have been there. About two weeks after surgery, I was in a grocery store, and they had free samples of bread cut into small cubes. I popped one in my mouth and swallowed, without even thinking about my band. It went down just fine, but it sure made gave me pause that I completely forgot about my band like that.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
