Yes with less than 3 weeks to go I am booked in! I start pre surgery diet Optigross on Tuesday and I have to thank all of the wonderful members of lapbandtalk for all of the helpful advice and support I received here. BTW - It was noted in my booking appointment that I was one of the most well informed patients they had seen and that is all thanks to you guys! Cheers!

So big weekend ahead having all of my lasts and gaining gross amounts of weight and looking forward to a brighter and smaller future!

Hi, Yes I pigged out a bit before starting the pre-op diet.

The diet has been OK. Haven't been hungry and lost 3kg in 1 week.

My op in on 3rd February. Getting nervous now.

Joy

Wow, Shaggs. How exciting! I'm so happy for you, and glad you didn't have to wait long.

Joy, you are lucky! I am having surgery the day after you, but I am STARVING on this pre-op diet! The first couple of days were fine, but now I am ravenous. Just gotta keep thinking about the end result though!

Thank you everyone, good luck for your surgeries and recoveries - your losses are a huge inspiration to me and I'll be holding on to that while I'm struggling on Optifilth. Havent gone too overboard on the binge this weekend (so far so good anyway LOL) there's nothing I really want to eat that I wont be able to eat 6 weeks afterwards anyway, but I'm defintely not practicing eating small amounts thats for sure and so not chewing properly.

Couldnt sleep last night for the excitement!

Hi, Joyoc here. Had my band done Tuesday afternoon. Had a painful day yesterday as I had a lot of gas/wind pain. Today feeling a lot better. Keeping up the Nurofen Plus and DeGas pills and I'm fine. The op sites are clean and going OK also. I'm sip, sip, sipping as we are told to.

Just finished Breakfast Modifast 100mls per half hour and then I had my Supradyn Vitamin Drink over another hour and now it's time for juice, another hour of sipping.

Sipping is my new full time job.

The new era in my life has now begun. Yea!!

Joy

Hey,

Well its day 10 after surgery and apart from being allegic to the plasters that were on my wounds I feel great.

I am now allowed puree foods mmmmmm. Just had scrambled eggs (it felt strange eating).

Shaggs you have nothing to worry about. I went into a panic over the weekend before I had mine done but then I calmed down and looked forward to it all. When I got to the hospital I could not wait to get it done.

You will be fine.

Will be thinking of you

The anxiety beforehand was minimal. I was more excited to be done with this weight problem for ever. We can't help but lose weight with our band and we'll NEVER put the weight back on again. I've got vanilla, strawberry and chocolate Modifast for meals and pear and prune juice for morning teas and skim milk for afternoon tea. Only had 1day of it so far and all is OK.

Sunshine you're doing so well! How inspiring!! Tell me more about your pre surgery jitters - I just want to eat them all away it feels like an odd mix of fear and excitement like when you're just about to go on a big ride but its lasting days and days not minutes. Suffering again on Opti - so hungry and pre menstrual and its really hot here and it was my birthday yesterday and I drank heaps of champers. I'm back on track but man, bring on the 10th!!!!! So want it over with! Its awesome to hear your success stories so inspiring and just makes me want to jump in there head on! Keep us posted!

You'll be fine Shaggs. I didn't get nervous till I was being wheeled up to theatre. I thought for a minute I might not get my operation because the power went out in the hospital!

I am still in quite a bit of pain, but getting there - much better than yesterday! Slowly sipping on Water to get my fluids back up. Its hard to know when to stop because my whole abdomen is uncomfortable and can't tell if it is my belly, so going very slowly.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
