Hello, My name is Mechille. I am in the early stages of becoming a lap band patient. I am still waiting on all of paperwork to get into my surgeons office. He is in Flint, which is 153 miles from me but, they are the only ones to take medicare and medicaid. I don't have my surgery date yet, but I hope it will be soon. I live in Alpena and had my surgery done in Port Huron. They accept medicare and medicaid there too and the doctors there do only lapband and are just the best.

Where do you live?? I run a support group here in Alpena. It sounds like you live close to me according to the mileage you wrote.

That's about 2 hours from me... farther than I thought. There were no support groups here in my area, so I put a notice in the paper and started my own. We have about 10-15 people in attendance once a month here. There definitely is a need for the group!!

Good luck with your lapband.. Both my husband and I had it done and we'd do it again in a heartbeat!
