Pre-testing today, including a upper GI

Recommended Posts

I posted about it in my blog so feel free to read it, I tried to keep my sense of humor about the whole thing.

I'm done with the pre-op stuff and am off to the doc this afternoon for the pre-op consultation. After that we're off to a Bulls game. This I'm a bit more concerned about since I have never been to a Bulls game and have no idea if I will fit in the seat.

I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Hugs

Christy

I'm at Alexian Brothers so we can compare notes, LOL. I really like Dr Rantis, as a matter of fact I have an appointment with him today at 4pm. I had my dietary class last Monday, I think, and went to the Saturday class last month. My hubby had Lapband surgery the end of last month.

I'm really excited to have this done!

OMG that's awesome you and your hubby will be banded I'm sure it makes it easier... I originally thought I would be having it at Alexian Brothers but I guess they didn't have any openings and St. Alexuis did. OMG I went their this Saturday and it's really really really nice and everyone is supper nice. WOW you see him today... Cool. So are you excited? I am and ready to get this done already. Are you going to the meeting on the 7th maybe, we can meet.

Do you want to be support buddy's?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
