Why has the scale not moved for 3 weeks?

Recommended Posts

Typical Day:

B: Protein Shake (w/fruit, no sugar)

L: 3 oz can of tuna mixed with 1 t mayo, 1 t pickle relish, 5 crackers

D: 3 to 4 oz portion of fish or ground beef or chicken with 1/2 to 1 cup of vege (non starchy)

Lots of Water during the day.

So why am I not loosing weight? I'm not hungry, I get all my Protein in, I'm eating around 1100 calorie a day and I'm doing aerobics 3 times a week. Perplexing!!!

WOW I am impressed, you are doing great. Well we all know that muscles weighs more then fat, you have hit a plateau, you are probably seeing changes in your clothes because you are loosing inches or your scale is broke. LOL

Don't worry about the scale, keep up the great work. Do change up your exercise routine every couple of weeks if you don't. Don't get discouraged because you are the poster child for living healthy.

I got to a stall like that after I started real food, needless to say was very upset, made an appt with diatician, she did the muscle vs fat test and I had gained 12 of muscles at that time and as we all know, muscle weighs more than fat. Those scales can be your worst nightmare if you use them too often. During my 6-7 months post op I was at a stand still again, went back and I had gained 3 more lbs of muscle, go figure, LOL.

Don't weigh every day and most importantly..don't give up!

Good Luck

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
