So today I went for my first fill. I was totally expecting the worst but it was not that bad. It did take a while to find my port but he eventually got it. I have a 14cc band, and today he put in 4cc. After reading posts on here that seems like it was a large fill. I know everyone is different but I want to know other's experience. So basically my question is how many cc's did you receive on your first fill. Thanks

That is a lot. I have a 14cc band and my doc only fills 1.5 cc at a time. I now have 4.5 ccs in there (still no restriction to speak of). Next time, though I'm hoping for some action!

AND I say that's a lot, but can you drink liquids fine? How are you feeling? That's the important factor

My first fill was 4.5cc and it didn't make much difference. I didn't feel true restriction until around 7cc.

Best of luck to you!

Not sure the size of my band, but the first fill was 1cc and my Doc. will only do 1/2 cc fills after the first. Seems like it's going to take a long time to get there, LOL! I've only felt some restriction after a fill for a couple of days. I'm scheduled for another fill next week and will find out the size of my band.

I have the large vanguard band and was given 3cc at the time of surgery. A month later i was given another 3 cc. I proceeded with caution there after...meaning small frequent fills.

I'm feeling good. I can drink and swallow liquids. I was very nervous before the fill beacuse you hear about those cases where some cannot swallow or drink without pain. The doc told me to call him in a week if I have no restriction and we would try again. I am hoping all goes well though.

I hope that your next fill goes well, let me know how everything goes.:)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
