January 29th anyone????

Recommended Posts

I wanted to see where everyone is with their diets. I as have posted was told to move onto the mush stage only a week out of surgery. I have been doing well on this stage including scrambled eggs, string cheese and the Protein Shakes. I am thinking about calling the Dr this Friday to get the soft food approval if all keeps going well. I have been looking at other forums and it seems that some do move on this track. My Dr's take home notes I am clearly too soon for these phases, but when you ask him he approves the new foods. I guess its a case by case..

So little by little I am feeling better. Ready to go back to work. Also ready to eat mushy food. I have my post op appointment on tuesday. The most amazing thing was putting on a n outfit that was tight a few weeks ago and the pants are falling off(and I have only lost 22 pounds and have not had a fill yet). It was also cool to fit into a shirt that I have not worn for years(from the pile of clothes that you say you will save because you plan on getting back into them). I will be glad when I can exercise, does anyone know how long it is before you can start working out?

My surgery went too well, maybe? I went back to work that Monday and after my one week appt, my dr. said I could progress as tolerated--well, it turns out I can tolerate so well, I can eat anything, yep, even meatballs; but I have not tried rice. I had to test an orange slice yesterday (took off the white part) and that was fine, and I found I can chew up some (soft bibb) lettuce and be fine, too. I thought at first I wouldn't even need a fill, and now I am sure that I do! Can anyone commiserate, here, please? Also, my port is on the RIGHT side--how weird that everyone's is different. I put frozen fruit in the blender with the Protein Powder and it is so good, my kid will drink it for "school-aid" as we now call it! I have been taking zinc losenges, too, since they say it helps to keep your hair.< /p>

Hi bandiegirl

I had my surger on the 30th jan. I can eat anything also and have only lost 16 pounds since the 10 day pre-op and since surgery. How much weight have you lost? It is frustrating I have not lost anything in the last 1 1/2 weeks. I am counting calories 1200 a day. Like you I know I need a fill I am ready for this to begin....Good luck

I'm so glad to hear that I am not the only one--my dr. said only 1/2 the people get an 'adjustment' as he calls it. I checked out the 'fill' poll the other day, and it is ALL OVER THE place--no one is the same, there is no typical anything with this thing. Some people know all about what they got, the real technical details--I barely ask anything in my dr's office--I just want to get the heck out of there as fast as possible--I get the answers on here!--I guess I am still embarrassed (or something) that I had to get this and now it is not 'really' even working yet. OK I lost one more pound since I updated this, though--I think the 'ticker' might help, too. I hope it shows up. I did start walking (sort-of--a couple miles half-hearted, still) and I am doing dance videos--hula anyone? I figure I can be a really good belly-dancer at least! I should get extra credit for extra belly at least, don't cha think? Who likes any sort of exercise on here--spill the beans--I hate it all--but really want to find something that I really-really like. OK, off to bed. Thank goodness I still have to eat one more GNC caramel Calcium chew...[i hope someone can appreciate a little wry-ness on here...]

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
