Tired of Waiting

Recommended Posts

I attended my seminar in August, had my pre-op surgical consult in November, had my conoloscopy and treadmeill test done just before I decided to do this. Have started changing my diet so I am doing 1 liquid meal a day.

Called the office and the lab slip and chest x-ray were to be done right away. I didn't understand that then. I thought they wanted them done closer to the surgery date. Then the psychologist finished my report early in November, asked me for the address and never sent in my report saying she didn't know for sure if I was going through with it.

Nothing I ever told her should have led her to belive that. It makes me wonder.

Even if that all gets turned in this week, I am probably looking at a March or April Surgery date, because of the scheduling. We are fairly close to Canada and they have to wait 10 years for the surgery there, so many are opting to come to the states and having it done.

There must have been 40 + Canadians in our group.

O Lord teach me patience, NOW!!!!!!!!!!

Oh wow, good luck with that. My insurance was a mess trying to get them to cover it. Just keep calling and bugging them. That's what I did...it seemed to help push things along.

It seems like you deal with so many different people and places that you aren't always sure who to talk to.

You'll get there, just try your hardest to be a little more patcient. And like I said just keep bugging the heck outta them.

Good Luck!!!

I am sorry you're frustrated! But we can take a lesson in nationalized health care! Hopefully someone will cancel and you'll get to move along more quickly.

Pianolover51,

Do I know how you feel! I've jumped through so many hoops it isn't funny, and I've been going through this since April, when I saw my primary care physician. I've complained (vented) :-) about all the stuff I had to go through and have gotten a lot of support, but I really understand how frustrating it is.

I went to a seminar in June, had a psychological evaluation in August, cardiology exam in June, and that was before I was involuntarily switched to another medical group. The first one wanted me to travel quite a distance, which is something I wasn't able, or willing to do.

I've had another psychological evaluation, sent in the cardiology exam from June, (though I may have to take another one, because I've been told that the anesthesiologist doesn't want any tests older than six months.) I had my initial consultation too, and now I guess I just wait. My doctor couldn't find the cardiology exam so I went back and forth with them, finally just going directly to the cardiologist.

So yes, it's frustrating, and sometimes I wonder if I'm ever going to get banded, or if it's worth all the trouble; then I tell myself that every day I have to wait is another day for me to get used to the lifestyle changes.

When I joined LBT my weight was 331 pounds. That was in March. At my cardiology exam I was down to 318. I just learned this tonight when my roommate read the report to me.

I guess the reason I'm saying all this is to remind myself that it will happen, and when it does, I want to be as prepared as I can be.

One of the reasons I come to this site is to keep myself centered and focused.

Good luck, and hang in there! You'll get there, even if you have to come here and voice (or write) your frustration.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
