Should I get my fill tomorrow? Help!!!

Recommended Posts

Supposed to get a fill in the morning. Here is where I am. When I eat, not able to eat alot, maybe 3/4 cup of protien. Getting hungry a couple of hours later. Some things like fruit, chili, I could eat alot of but draw the line and just stop. My weight is down a couple of pounds, up one, down one, up two etc., etc. Don't know if I should get a fill. I am so afraid of getting over-filled, but at the same time I want the best restriction. What would you do? Have been off my exercise routine this month, but just got back on that. Help!

Hi lonestar5212,

it's timely that you've posted this. I also only am able to eat 3/4 of a cup of food on average per meal, but lately have been getting hungry within 2-3 hours, which does not happen when I'm well-restricted.

My next appt for a fill was supposed to be in Feb but this morning, I decided that I actually probably do need a bit of an adjustment, simply because I'm not feeling as restricted as I used to feel.

So I booked myself in for a fill this Friday. I will be asking for a small adjustment only, maybe 0.25cc, just to bring back that restricted feeling. Perhaps you should also look at a small-ish adjustment, because it sounds like you're close to your sweet spot, you just need maybe a little bit to get there.

Thanks for your reply to my post.

I did exactly what you suggested and I am glad I did. I only got .2ccs today and then I will go from there. I scheduled another appt. for 1 month from today and will see where I am at that point. Thanks for your help!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
