CONFESSION TIME..spill it

Recommended Posts

I don't know if it will wait till she hits her 40s. I was able to do whatever I wanted until my mid-20s. I don't know if she's 20 like you are, but she may not have as long as she thinks. :tongue2:

That was me too. I was slim and could eat everything until I turned 25. As I got closer to 30, I got bigger and bigger.

we were w/our "foodie" friends last night. in the last yr we have only gone out to dinner a few times; and was able to fly under the radar with food choices....last night, i got called out for eating so little. i was able to brush it off, though i had a bite of everything - just realized i ate like a PIG in the past.

none of them know DH and i are banded & hubby said i brought a bit of attention to myself because i left a plate with a lot of food still on it, like it was "poor food"....and it wasn't - just could and only wanted a bite; my plate was made for me..UGH.

What you could do is say that since you've been dieting and exercising (or whatever reason you use for your weight loss), you've learned that you do much better at events such as that if you have a large, satisfying salad before heading out. That way you get a healthy filling and then aren't as hungry at an event. That is if anybody chooses to call you out on "picking" at your plate. :tongue2:

Sounds like me. I was 120 all through high school, then had DD when I was just shy of 22 and went between 135 and 123. got divorced and met DH at age 26 and I was about 150. By the time we got married at age 28, I was 230 in my wedding photos. And it's been going up ever since. :tongue2:

diet & exercise is my mainstay comment & it's truthful:wink:

i just realized she lost her eating buddy; we use to take cooking classes, wine tasting, try the "new" restaurant every wk.

she's put on some weight & i'm just hoping i didn't offend...i also don't want to disclose my surgery, catch 22.

Janesays - I can empathize. I had a roommate in college that would pull that mess too. Plus my younger (mid 30's) brother is 6'5" and prob 175. He has always always always been slender and I've always had to fight my weight. Not fair!!!

Dont worry about it scuba maybe u just need a fill..

Sounds like scuba is overfilled to me.

okay.... now for my confession time:

My size 6 (sometimes 3/4) roommate pisses me off with her eating habits. She has a perfect figure and all day everyday she eats unhealthy food. Here's what she ate today: two big bowls of some fruity kids Cereal, a big serving of hamburger helper, and a chipotle burrito for dinner.

Maybe for dessert she has a finger to the back of the throat? LOL

haha no, plain, she's not bulimic, just lucky. we share a bathroom and that bathroom is connected to my bedroom wall, so i (unfortunately) hear practically everything that goes on in there... haha

congrats to those of you here who have reached that size 6 through your hard work and counting calories! i hope to be there one day too, and borrow all my roommates dresses... hehe. one of my other roommates is a size ZERO! but she looks like she could be 10 years old and gets harassed by the bouncers at bars even though she's 21... no thanks, I'll stick to my goal of size 6/8.

one day the weight may come on one or both of them and never fall off... and who knows, maybe they will be looking into the lapband one day and seek out my advice. i really hope they can manage their weight without it coming to surgery, but a part of me would like them to see for once what life is like for us!

i know i'm a bit late in responding, o, the holidays, anyway, for all those readers out there who have spent thousands on books (as have I), check out paperbookswap.com

I've saved hundreds since joining. I love to read true crime/non-fiction.

Confession - my husband's book collection really annoys me! 1. Some of them are beautifully bound Icelandic books that I can't read!

2. Our office/library at home is filled with his collection but he doesn't even freakin' read!

When we were dating, he told me he loved to read - ha! In the the 9 years we've been married, he's only finished 1 novel and a few technical books. Imagine me, thinking of quiet Sunday mornings reading and sipping coffee together on the couch. REALITY: I read, he watches TV.

i have a hard time parting w/books & don't read nearly enough. our library is PACKED, and while in renovation mode - i promised DH to get rid of some....i've been looking at the boxes of my nancy drew & judy bloom books from the 70's unwilling to ship to my brother who has 4 girls just yet.

i'm sure i will - when they're ready to paint...LOL

i've read 3 nancy drews in the last wk....been fun to re-read 30 yrs later.

Lulu, I used to love Judy Bloom books when I was a teen. I remember someone telling my mom they were full of vulgarities and from then on, I had to sneak them in order to read them. I never got into Nancy Drew, but loved Trixie Belding. Did anyone read that series?

Shish, welcome to the chocolate addictions club. Sigh....I love me some chocolate.< /p>

Ok, really bad admission. I started reading by sneaking my mom's Harlequin romances. My only child like book was Dear God, It's Me Margaret. My mom bought that one when it was time for me to possibly start my monthly. It has been pure smut since then. I also don't buy them. I just go to my mom's house with a couple of bags. I can go at any time and get 2 bags full of books. She spends $60-$70 a week on books.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
