On liquid diet with diabetes question

So I'm metformin twice a day for diabetes. My gluci or whatever would average 135 or 140.

I'm on day 5 of the liquid diet and I'm testing between 111-125. I'm curious why it wouldn't be extremely low since I'm just having sf fudgesicles, Protein Drinks, Jello and Water. It seems like its still kinda high considering I haven't eaten.

What do you think? Is this normal?

Depending on your Protein Drink, there is probably quite a bit of sugar and carbs. I know on my liquid diet, I was drinking Glucerna shakes which are made for diabetics, but they still had just as much sugar (and sometimes more) than slimfast or something like that. As long as your blood sugars aren't higher, I wouldn't worry about it for the time being. It will level out. I was actually able to stop my metformin after surgery (under doctor's orders). I just monitor my blood sugar for spikes. Good luck to you!
