I think that I would and will jump up and down when I reach the 38 pound mark, you should keep up the good work and know in your heart that you can do this, you will not be one of the people that the band doesn't work for because you are trying!!

I am 6 months out and have lost 38 lbs. I had one fill in April and I was supposed to go see Dr. Bertha one month after. Unfortunately I never made it and yesterday was my first visit to see him since February. Good news I am 16 lbs lighter since then, bad new he was not happy that I never made my fill follow-up. He said he cannot tell if the fill worked or not, when I lost the weight, etc...

Then I was lectured on how I am not eating the right things. I am only eating "band-friendly" foods and not the Protein I am supposed to be eating.

No fill for me - he wants me to see the nutrionist and go back to him in a month.

Now I do feel like the majority of my loss happened in the beggining my recently I have lost 6 lbs - I have had a few up and down moments but the I am happy with my progress.

He actually told me that I could be one of those people who fail with the band!!

Gosh - I thought I was doing good!

Oh and he thinks that my fill is just about right. I have a very hard time with meat and bread and it gets stuck so he says that is restriction

Lauren

I might be the only one, but I kind of agree with him. If you can't eat meat (ie: SOLID protein) very well, then you have restriction. You could try another fill, but it might make you so tight you couldn't get anything down.

You are doing good. You're averaging 1.5 lbs per week, which is the goal.

And honestly, I can see him getting mad about missing your appointments. If you haven't seen him for 3 months, then it would be hard for him to judge how you're really doing.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
