THanks for all your support!

Had surgery yesterday and it went well. Some pain, but controlled by the pain meds. They gave me a catheter while I was out, which was a surprise, but other than that, it was what I expected. Nurses were very nice. Surgeon said I had the smallest liver he'd ever seen. (Pats myself on the back for sticking with the pre-op diet). They usually keep people overnight, but let me go home. I've been walking and following the clear liquid diet and feeling pretty good today, though I am taking the liquid loratab. I've had no issues swallowing anything. liquids go down fine, but I'm on liquids until my doctor's appointment on December 9th. Weight is up about a pound. I'm not sure it that's due to the gas or what. So far, so good.

If you want step by step details, they are on the link on my signature to my live journal.

Hello all,

Had mine yesterday on the 2nd. Everything went well. Surgery was at 12:30 and I was released about 6. Almost had to spend the night because my oxygen level was too low but if I sit up it is good. I slept in my recliner and only woke up once at 2am to go to the bathroom and take some more loratab. Pain is very manageable and trying to walk around some. No gas pains so far. Just a little hunger : ) Hubby made me some chicken broth last night and I told him it never tasted better. Just sipping on Clear Liquids for now. The hard part is keeping the 2 puppies off of me. They are used to sitting in the chair with me.

Yeah Doxie! Welcome back! I can certainly identify with 2 lovable pups, we have 2 Doxie/Chiuahua girls, and know how they enjoy cuddling and burrowing! I will def enjoy petting them while down.

Glad to hear you are feeling/doing well and with great support to boot! Will def ask for c. broth from DH when home. You go girl!:cursing:

It's good to hear from you, Doxie. I'm glad everything went well for you. I identify with the pups wanting to be part of your lap. Our lap dog is a sheltie who weighs a bit more than most "lap" dogs! He will be on the lap in a flash, though.

You are on your way!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
