I am one of the many having surgery on the 23rd, let's join together and encourage each other through the process. I'm in southern Colorado, where are you? Happy Life Change to us all. Nicci:thumbup:

A perfect "Home away from home". Dec. 23 too. Louisville KY.

More nervous about pre-op testing and the thought of having a catheter than anything else!!!

Anxiously awaiting my pre-op testing on Dec. 12. I will get my "lovely" pre-surgery liquid diet plan then.

My friend's have talked my into getting a bikini wax so I can "prepare" for my catheter. Does the torture ever end??

Noticing some "friction" and "bad vibes" from a co-worker who was denied for the surgery. She previously had jaws wired shut, joined Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, and had her stomach stapled and is STILL non-compliant. I've just learned to "shake my haters off" and go on with my life.

Hey guys,

I'm also being banded on 23rd December. I'm from the UK, but flying to Brussels to have my surgery. I'm nervous about flying home by myself the following day, but I'm certain it'll be worth it.

Good luck to you all.

Miss Flump x x x

I didn't have a catherter. It is such a short surgery, you probably won't have one. But then again every surgeon is different. Good luck to you all. Maggies:shades_smile:

Had my pre-op testing on Friday, Dec. 12. Did okay...except the barium from the barium swallow...it didn't like me too well and I ended up having stomach cramps and the runs for 3 hours. UGH!

Got the pre-surgery and post surgery diets. It doesn't look that bad. Did all of my grocery shopping for my "goodies"...Positive thinking.

Already scheduled my beginning sessions with my exercise therapist. I start on Dec. 29, unless my surgeon states otherwise.

Had my pre-op assessment done today at the Med Center, and also met with my surgeon. Asked him tons more questions. Like, did i have a say in where the port went....yes i did! Also found out that he uses the On-Q painbuster for pain control post-op and i am excited about that, i have heard great things about it. Maybe your surgeon does the same thing? Only tests i had to do were EKG and bloodwork, everything else is in place. Getting very excited to move ahead with my new life. Keep in touch with your post-op experiences. Nicci:thumbup:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
