Home from work. I was wanting to get in the pool but it is just too cold. What happened to May?

For lunch today I made a salad and used a yellow and a red pepper in it. It was really good. I need to get some more Salad Dressing. My favorite is Raspberry Vinigrete(sp?). I ended up using light Blue cheese. After that I ended up having 2 popcicles. Not good but still ok. I stopped and got a route 44 ice tea with lemon on the way to work. When I got home I made hubby's dinner and got me a bowl of watermelon. I just had to go get a second helping. Great, now I'll be up all night pee'ing.

Next couple of days are gonna be busy ones for me. Just a bunch of running around.

Have a great evening.

Good Morning Ladies.

Rain again today. and cold. Only in the 60's all day.

I woke up around 12:30 having to go to the bathroom and ended up having a charley horse on my shin. Boy is that hard to walk off. I walked and massaged for a long time. Finally crawled back into bed and let it calm down. Woke up at 4:30 and it's still calm but very sore. It's gonna make working out this morning a little touchy.

Terry, Hannah is driving now??? Good Luck.

Morning Girls~

Last night, I was starving and very excited as I cooked dinner. I decided to make hamburgers and had some pot. salad and baked Beans. Well, in my hunger and haste, I took too big of a bite...got it down, then another...OOOOWWWW! I slimed and puked for 20 minutes. KLAUSY LOVES THE BAND!!! He lives outside only, and I always PB in the kitchen sink (w/ the disposal and cold Water running) and he can hear it...he starts "knocking" on the door when he hears me. He got the rest of the burger and I threw the rest away. It was so bad, I think I puked EVERYTHING I've ever eaten. My tummy hurt (almost burned) so I went to DQ...and it felt so good to eat the cold ice cream. Sucks...Sus ate 2 burgers and seconds of everything...it looked really good! Sigh...o well! So I will eat oatmeal and cottage cheese today to let the band rest. I am making lemon chix for dinner, but will take REALLY small bites, and have some mashed pots too.

Well, it is Wednesday! 13 days of school and 2 days until the girls get here! YEAH!!

Pop in later...have a great day!

Good morning, Violets..

It's a dreary, rainy day here today and the temp is 48. It's only supposed to get up to 55 today. No working outside, instead I'll be pricing clothes for a garage sale on Saturday. Ethan comes at 11 for the day and I have a couple of meetings and choir. A busy day as usual.

I'm trying to get my Breakfast to go down. Egg, sausage and cheese. They are going down slowly.

Off to get dressed and get ready for Ethan. Everyone have a great day.

Yeah, I have to be really careful with hamburger, too. I have to make a very conscious effort to chew chew chew and still I have to eat slowly. I have been where you were last night...but maybe not QUITE that bad! That one sounds like a doozey. Do you ever try the papaya enzymes? They actually work pretty good for me.

Yes, Suzanne - Hannah has her permit now!! I'm too old for this sh*t.

Evan called last night to let us know that he's fine and working the program. Also....that there's a famous movie/TV star there but, sorry, I can't tell you who it is. He also found out that Stevie Ray Vaughn (my all-time musical hero) did his stint there, too. He's impressed and I guess it gives the program some credibility, so that's good.

Kat - that is so scary about your SIL!!! You said all along that she wasn't taking care of herself and now the chickens have come to roost, eh? What a shame. It didn't have to be that way.

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all having a good morning. It has been a little cold the last few days as well after a really warm and comfortable week last week.

Laura, everyone has mentioned soy . . . that just reminded me that I had to switch my son to soy as well for his problems but I can't remember when I switched to soy based formula.

I could sure go for a nice salad for lunch :0). The only question is where to get it, lol.

Quick fly-by...

Got my Cali mani, pedi, 'brow wax this a.m.... am trying very hard not to chip the mani... this is why I never get them, they last all of about 10 mins w/me & my busy hands... so we'll see! I still have SO much to do before Friday, so I feel overwhelmed, but then I remember that Friday is almost here, so I feel elated... I go back & forth!... I am wacky!

Pam... what's the weather forecast? It's cold & wet here now, too... bleh.

Let's guess who Terry's movie star in treatment is!! Movies AND TV?... hmmmmm... would help if we knew M or F... Lindsay Lohan's not back in, is she??? (I know, I am evil!!)

Michelle - it's an older male so not as exciting as your guess. Put an extra coat of clear polish on your manicure...that'll help. And wear gloves when your hands are in Water. I've even gone so far as to wear latex gloves when cooking to protect my mani from the constant hand-washing....then I got hooked on using latex gloves all the time! I ALWAYS use them when messing with raw chicken, pork and hamburger...or dipping things in batter.

LOL Michelle, I was thinking the same thing.. I was going to play the guessing game based on the news I've heard lately, Lindsay Lohan came to mind.. I know Amy Winehouse just went back.. hm.. you could e-mail us Terry, ya know I send ya'll music releases that aren't suppose to be released to the public

I am thinking of swapping to soy, waiting till my doc appt. on June 16 to find out their thoughts on the Cereal and soy (it's a husband/wife team, both peds and both see him).

The bad part is, and I'll just have to suck it up.. I bought a $200 several cases of the ready to feed, we're almost through that and I just ordered $200 cases of the powdered..was going to swap, figured he'd be ok for powdered by now.. I think I'm wrong, and if we swap to soy that's a crap load of powder that may be wasted.. like I said, may just have to suck it up. Feeding babies is SO EXPENSIVE. I wish the breastfeeding worked out, I think he'd not be having these problems.

Russ' parents came down this past weekend to see him (first time they've seen him since he was born).. and his mom brought his baby book! Russ always lied to me and said his mom has no pics of him as a baby.. she sure did, and a baby book

I learned some interesting things. Russ has BIG brown puppy dog eyes.. Carson has my small eyes and they are blue.. well Russ' newborn pic looks just like Carson, small eyes and they were blue. Also in his baby book it says he was allergic to normal formula and had to swap to soy-- I asked his mom how she knew, she said he broke out in a bad rash all over his face. Carson has this too, but I *think* it's baby acne. Google image search of baby acne looks like what he has, but again I'll let the docs confirm. Maybe he is just allergic to the milk products.

I had to switch Hannah to soy, too. She was inconsolable many evenings and spitting up a LOT. Switching to soy helped but didn't eliminate the problem.

Maybe you can return the formula you have ordered...or at the very least you can donate it to a food bank and get a deduction.

Oh, and if you think feeding them is expensive... let me advise that you probably should start saving NOW for auto insurance.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
