Shrinkin' Violets Part 3 Read HERE!

Hi guys

kat - I' am sure that i'll tell the story it is long and drawn out, i've had good days and bad days, today is not a great day for me, and this is a huge part of the problem, in a nutshell, he is working hard where here should have been for me for ever, and i get scared of the past and run away and today i'm' running fast.

anyway, quiet weekend here here i only had 2 pages to catch up on.

hope you all enjoy the rest of your day

i don't know what i'm going to make for dinner, we went to lunch and i ordered a rubin, had 3 bites and that was all i could eat, you would think with my stress and lack of eating i would weigh 100lbs, and I am getting obsessed with not loosing again and that is depressing me more

Just finished going thru the checkbook and bank account - making sure I have some money left.

I did actually get out and take doggie for a walk today. A little on the cool side here today. 44 degrees and a slight wind. I was hoping to make it all day in my jammies but it didn't work out that way.

Thanks Jane for mentioning the Cadbury mini eggs. I gave Easter candy up for Lent and was doing great till you mentioned them. Now my mouth is watering. Hold me down.

Wonder if TracyKS is back from Florida yet. Hope she had a good time.

Dinner decision - cottage cheese and pears for me and leftover pizza for the hubby.

Judy, did you get the recipe I posted for the Protein Jello? ?

And I think I have a feedback for that little thumb, What's up with the BBW Single Female Looking Ad????

 Terry-Here I am. I am always here. I just do not have anything productive or exciting to say.

My sister has been here the past 4 days. Her life is in turmoil and she came here to regroup...heal mentally, get her appetite back. I can get even the skinniest person alive to gain weight....she came to the right place! lol Maybe I can run a program for anorexics & bulemics and help them gain weight AND get paid for it. A win win situation!

Have a great night everyone! (((hugs)))

Good Evening, Violets..

Long rehearsal today, but our concert is Friday and we have only one more rehearsal on Tuesday before the big day. Then hopefully I get a week off before it starts all over again.

Church was very boring this morning. The sermon was a mess and the only good thing about the service was the choir. I don't know what I'm going to do if things don't improve.

We are under a winter storm warning for tonight. 4-8 inches of heavy, wet snow with thunder! Life in northern Michigan is certainly interesting.

Ethan comes over tomorrow for the day and I have Community Chorus in the evening.

Yes, Suzie, I saw the recipe for the Jello. Thanks!

I finished the last of the ham and cheese Soup for supper today.

I bought Kris some Cadbury mini-eggs before she went into labor. One day when I was visiting in her room and she was in the bathroom and Nathan was walking the hall, I walked over to the bag of eggs, opened the bag................... thought of my Violets and left them alone. You all are my motivation. Does that surprise you??? Even when you are having a rough time, you still help me to stick with the program.

YIKES... I'm watching half ton Mom on TLC. Soooo sad.

I'm going to have my 2nd liter of Water and watch this show and then Desparate Housewives. Everyone have a great evening. sleep well!!

Last week when I was at that party I met a lady who had had stomach surgery back in November. She told me at her age(53) she didn't have time to lose weight with the Lap-Band. So she chose to have the gastric by-pass. So all this week I was second guessing myself in having the band done. That maybe I should go in and have gastric by-pass done. I could have this all done and over with in the next year to year and a half.

So, I'm over at the web-site for WLS chatroom and I run across some chat for some of them that have had some problems with blood work ups coming back with all kinds of troubles. Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, Ferrintin, B-12 and so on and so on. Even my cousin who had it done has all kinds of problems with her blood. After reading this I am really glad that I did not have the gastric by-pass. I had said along time ago that that was not a route for me. I was sold on the band and now I am very very very glad that I stuck with it.

I bought a bag of mini cadbury eggs a couple weeks ago and consumed them all in 3 days. Shh... I'm not as good as you Judy!

I have NO restriction the past couple of days.. paired with the chest pain, I'm afraid something happened to my band

I'm praying and praying it's just funky with baby pressure, and it will work fine when it's just my stomach in there..

Off to bed, hate this time change :)

Hey V's~

I did so much work today...got a headache the size of Texas. Hate that! I watched the FINAL episode of L Word and now watching Big Love. Sad that L Word is over...great show!

I have a Human Rights meeting tomorrow...loooooonnnnnggg day! Oh well. If it doesn't kill us...it makes us stronger, right!

TracyK, hope things work out w/ sister. It is nice to have an escape place when you need it! You are a good friend to have.

Judy, stay warm. It is spring here...wanna come to PS?

Laura, you can never forget us!

I am sending you all my acknowledgements I wrote today. I broke down during the first paragraph and had a good cry. It is the rough version...but the meat is there! I hope you enjoy it.

Have a good night!

Wow, TracyK beat me here. I'm up because I have to go to work, otherwise I would be sound asleep.

Jane, thanks for not mentioning those things again. I'm just trying to make it to Easter and than hope I can avoid the after Easter sales.

Pammie, your dedication is beautiful. You know your parents are very proud of you, and what a lucky person you are to have 2 beautiful people in your life right now. Good Luck to you in all that you do. Your an inspiration.

I'll need to take a nap today after work. I didn't sleep real well last night. And than I have "Reboot" tonight. I'll be dragging my butt.

Everyone have great day.

Good Morning, Violets..

We got dumped on by Mother Nature again last night. All schools in the area are closed. It's the 11th snow day for my former school, but they have days built in so they still have 1.5 days available to them before they have to start making up. I think Alpena schools will have to make up days in June. Not a good thing.

Nothing on my agenda today except babysitting and Community Chorus tonight.

I bought some WW candies yesterday and have been rationing them out. They are sooooooo good and are my little guiltless treat. Not Cadbury Mini-eggs, but the next best thing.

I just looked out the window and see that they have plowed our road, so of course there is a mountain of snow at the end of our driveway. Bob is going to have to get busy this morning and do the snowblowing.

I'm off to fix some Breakfast. Everyone have a great day!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

    • LeighaTR

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
