Good Morning

Glad you all had nice holidays -

I'm glad it is over - and since i'm feeling better this morning had a mental breakdown

I spent most of yesterday sick, either ds throwing up on me or me throwing up on him

hacking my brains out and a massive head cold. I feel better today -

but what a shock - I think I lost what ever little bit I had left in me... and i'm sure you all know how that happened

he won't have to worry about me being with anyone else because i hate everyone and don't think there is ever a chance i will let anyone close to me again

i have to go for a walk, i'm stuck at work all day - but brought my laptop so i can do what i want and not worry

We are in a blizzard watch-------and heading into town, we need to put DH's check in the bank!! LOL---he has lots of shopping to do, so he needs his money!!!

He has visions of insulation and pegboard dancing in his head. Personally I am thinking more along the line of new boots!!!

Was a wonderful day, and when we get home and I am ready to snuggle in with the snow outside I will share the highlights, and see about some pics!!

Good afternoon, violets..

I'm back from shopping and we got a lot of good deals. We got all the traditional stuff we give the kids each year.. Pez, large candy cane sticks, boxer shorts and Life Saver books. We've been doing that since they were little so we got everything half price for next year. Bob also gets our organist a noisemaker each year.. you know the pigs and cows that sing Jingle Bells.. that kind of thing. He got 2 of those for the next two years. I got my mouse too and am much happier now. And no.. not the Laura kind of mouse. The Michelle Mouse.

Time for lunch here. Then Ethan comes and we'll have fun all afternoon.

BBL...

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas yesterday. I was much too busy to even bother with the computer much, lol.

I really can't wait to get "back on the banding wagon" again and am actually looking forward to it :0). Holidays can be roughhhh, that's for sure.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button really looks interesting. We might just have to venture to the cinema this weekend.

Good afternoon, Violets.

I just put the ham in the oven for dinner. Got some butternut squash, corn and mashed potatoes to go with it. It will be our day after Christmas dinner. And will last for several weeks, I'm guessing!!

We're going to the movies tomorrow and will either see Benjamin Button (fantastic reviews) or Yes Man.. Jim Carrey is my favorite comedian. Kris and Nathan will drive into town to go with us.

Ethan is here and we got to go to Yahoo messenger and see Amelia, Mara and Everett. It's so cool to see his reaction when he can see Amelia in real time.

We got snow last night, but no rain or freezing rain today. That's fine with me. Don't know what they are predicting for tomorrow now. Just know it will be warm and lots of melting. The birds are really out in force at the feeder and that always means a storm.

We're going to JoAnn Fabrics as soon as Joe picks Ethan up. Can't believe we forgot to go there this morning. I'm sure there will be little left by now, but we'll see.

Going to go watch some cartoons with Ethan and watch him color at his new desk Santa dropped off here yesterday.

Hey girlies...

Just checking in quick before we leave to go to dinner @ my gf's house... the one w/her dd in the treatment center out in UT... but the dd is home for the first time for the holidays... so we're heading over for a yummy dinner (her mom is making all her favs) and fun & games... dance dance revolution & wii bowling & cards... I made her fav pie: French apple + van ice cream... mmmm...

Just hung out today... I did stop by @ my neighbor's (the one who's wife died) house to check on him... no news yet on the details of the service... + I see some housecleaning for him in my future... I told him I'd come any time w/my Hefty bags to help him dig out... he needs to sleep for a month, I think...

Ok, gotta go get ready... have a nice night, everyone.

I had the best food and Water day...... That is until I got home and proceeded to eat the last 6 Cookies and the last rice krispy treats. The good thing is that everything is now gone so I don't have to worry about it anymore. I'm still under my calorie intake for the day. Looks like cottage cheese and pineapple for dinner.< /span>

Hubby and I headed to the shopping center to go see what "Best Buys" had in digital cameras. What a madhouse. We finally got in there and they had a display of 30 cameras but only had about 5 in-stock and not the one I was looking at. We were going to go across the steet to "Circuit City" but that was a huge mess trying to get across the street and into the parking lot. We decided to go home. On the way Hubby asked about going to Wal-mart and I told him it was up to him. It wasn't quite as crowded as I thought it was going to be. We got a parking spot 2 spots from the door, went right to the cameras and some lady came up and asked if I needed help. I asked if they had this camera in-stock and yes they did. So I have a brand new Canon 10 megapixel digital camera. WOOHOO!!!!!!!!! I even have it downloaded on to the computer already. Dang, I'm good. LOL.

So the only thing I have left to do is keep my big mouth shut and not cram it full of anything. That shouldn't be too hard since all the crap is now gone.

Hi Everyone -

Jenn - sorry, honey but your writing is so cryptic I can hardly understand what you're saying sometimes!? What (specifically) is going on with you?? Do you have the flu?

Oh yes. I think that tomorrow I will get up and throw out all the junk in the house. Maybe. Ok, well, all of it except the Ghiradelli chocolates. And toffee bars. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I've gained 2# since Thanksgiving which may not sound like a lot, but it is HELL to get off!! I feel like crap and I know exactly why! I am eating about 6 cups of sugar a day.

I sure do hope I can get it all together soon. I feel like I've fallen into some kind of hole and will have to claw my way out! Aaaaaaack!

Good evening,Violets.

We're back from all the 50% off shopping and had a great ham dinner. We went to JoAnn Fabrics and got a couple more Santas for our collection. Went to Peebles and got a pair of brown moleskin pants (size 10 woo hoooo!!) and a travel alarm clock that projects the time on the wall.

Ethan's daddy came to get him at 5:30 and we won't have him again until next Friday. DIL Jen has the next week off.

I'm sitting in the living room in a big cushy chair watching the Pistons and reading online news to the Bobster. This is what I had envisioned when I asked for the laptop. No more being in different rooms at night...so cool!!

I'm going to start my new James Patterson book, Cross Country, tonight. That should be quick to finish before I start the Patricia Cornwell book Scarpetta.

It's 36 degrees out now and a fog advisory in effect for tomorrow morning. Rain is supposed to start tonight. It's going to be a mess tomorrow cause there is nowhere for the Water to go. The ground is frozen and the drains are covered deep with snow.

Jane.. so good to have you back and I bet your customers were really glad to see you again!

Jen.. I don't know exactly what you were saying either. Hope you feel better soon.

Suzie.. you and I are on the same wavelength too. I have that exact same camera. I love it!

Everyone have a good evening. Nothing on the agenda for us tomorrow except going to a movie.. Yes Man. And of course laundry. Some things never change!

Everyone sleep well.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

    • LeighaTR

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
