How many cc's does my band hold?

Recommended Posts

I had my band put in July 2008 and I have had 3 fills with 3 cc's each time. I am FINALLY able to feel the restriction. I keep forgetting to ask my doctor what size band I have. The little card the doctor gave me says "LAP-BAND AP LRG WITH ACCESS PORT 1" What does that mean? What is the max it can hold?

Why can't I lose the weight? I have had only two fills since surgery on 12/26/09 and lost only 10 pounds. My last fill was on May 2nd 2010, and my band was filled to 5cc. I still do not feel restriction. I have only lost a little weight of 10 pounds. I have a small band. Do I need another fill asap? It has been seven months with hardly any weight lost. Please help.

I am no expert but I would be getting another fill asap!

I have to keep going back every month until I am at my correct amount of fill, have great restriction and am losing good amounts of weight (I am not there yet) but 7 months is way too long.....get another appointment asap and discuss it with them.

Good luck

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
