Really Crazy Question

Recommended Posts

Okay,

I don't really know when to stop eating. It sounds crazy but some say stop the moment you feel full, however, when I have done that, I get really hungry quickly. When I stop when I feel satisfied I stay full longer and don't crave in between, however, I am afraid I am stretching the pouch. When do you guys stop? I want to do the right thing.

No liquids 30 minutes before meals or 30 minutes after. I just got banded Oct 16, no fills yet, and I am wanting to eat since I am still on 2 shakes per day and one meal of Protein. I'm just going on willpower right now. And, we all know how far our willpower lasts, not very long. My first fill is Dec.3rd and I'm hoping it gives me some fullness with a little bit of food. I'm so scared it wont work for me. As of Thanksgiving day, I will then have more food options, so maybe that will be better. So, hang in there and keep on keeping on

You are right to worry about stretching the pouch. I just had an esophagram and found out mine is slightly stretched. I never felt that full either.

If you are eating solid Protein, you should stay full longer than if you are eating anything else. If you get hungry, eat some more protein.

If you haven't had a fill yet, it's very normal to feel hungry often. I can't tell from your post or ticker if you have had any fills.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
