10 Week Fill

Recommended Posts

I am really frustrated at the fill process, I went in at 3 weeks for my first fill and left thinking I got a fill, when I came back 2 weeks later for my second fill I was told that the first was unsuccessful. This time she poked and prodded and said she couldnt find it. I met with the doctor a couple of weeks later and he said it could be because of scare tissue etc, he couldnt find the port and rescheduled me for 4 weeks later stating they would use ultrasound to find the port. Today I went for a fill and they disnt use ultrasound recause they say they can feel it, I could feel it since surgey, after a couple of pokes she said I got it at a angle and put in 2cc. She disapperaed quickly and I dont feel any different. How would I know if I was really filled or they are playing games? It makes me very nervous that the doctors assistance doesnt want to take time and talk to me, she is always in a big hurry. They have me scheduled back in 3 weeks for another fill.

Can you describe the procedure a little bit more? Did they numb the area of the port and then once they put the needle in your port, have you start sipping Water to see how tight they needed to make it? If all this did not happen, you probably did not get a proper fill. The other way I heard about is the flouroscopy but I have not had that done so I can't say anything about it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
