Had to go in after hours tonight to get an unfill. I could not even get hot tea down it was so bad. They took out half of what they put in yesterday. So they took .15cc out. I hope I this one works. I am still sore though from having everything hurt going down then coming up. Eeesh. What a day. But hey they weighed me again from yesterday and I lost 2 pounds. HA! I guess that is one way of doing it. :)

WannaB, i'm glad you went in. I had my 4th fill last Friday, Feb 20th, and i've been in the same boat, havent been able to keep anything but very thin liquids down, and they go very slowly. But last night i was able to eat some of a grilled chicken salad, and was not hungry at all after that! So maybe i'm ok. But that's the first meal i've been able to keep down since my fill. So, if I do OK today, i'm not going in. But if it happens again i'm going straight to my Dr. I'm glad that yours is better now. Amazing what such a small amount of liquid can do!

Good Luck!

Rhonda

Mornin' Notorious Novembers!

I'm in on the challenge - I have two mini-goals:

1. I am thisclose to fitting into a beautiful new outfit (size 18) that I bought intending to wear it to the Tyler Perry play "The Marriage Counselor". We have tickets for a performance on Saturday, March 14th, just about two weeks and a half from now. I think it's reasonable to lose 4 - 6 pounds in that time frame, which would put me into that outfit.

2. I want to be at least 25 pounds lighter by June 30th - we have a family reunion coming up during the first week of July in Florida, and I want to get into a new swimsuit for that week. The reunion is for my husband's family, and though we all share a proclivity for being heavy, I have gotten grief from a couple of his sisters for being heavy - go figure! I want to show them something new this year - and I'm going to be the smallest one there! :)

I intend to reach both of these goals by continuing to watch what I eat (goal is 1600 calories per day) and working out at least 4 days per week. I currently walk every weekday at work and at home, and I have a rowing machine at home I'm using.

Let's do this!

I have been the heavest out of all the wives in my family too. Not always but the last 5 years or so. Now I'm in the middle and will be the smallest by this summer. We all spend a lot of time at the lake- so I can't wait...

I know they took out .15 last night and I feel ok today. Was able to get cottage cheese down this morning. It is weird that such a small amount makes such a huge difference. I still don't get this whole band thing.

Hand in there, but if you are still having problems eating I would go in and have them take out a little. Just that little bit will help.

Hey to all my Notrious November Memeorial Day Challengers (good lord that a mouth full). It seems as if excitement is in the air regarding all of our mini goals. I really think this a great idea. For me small goals are always better. Its a lot less overwhelming to take on losing 27 lbs than it is 80 or so. In my family no one is bone thin, but my husbands family...thoes women are so dam small i swear they could all shop in baby GAP and what aggrivates me is that they EAT like NFL line backers and never ever gain weight. they are lucky to have very fast metabolisms. But I'm lucky in that none of my family on either side has ever made any negative comments to me about my weight. They are all very supportive about my weight loss far. I'm excited for myself/for all of us!

Does it ever hurt when you eat? I don't know if it is because I was so tight before and am still sore from all the pb'ing. Anyone else ever go thru this?

And I still don't get this. Your "sweet spot" is suppose to keep you full for 4 hours and not be hungry. I had to have Fluid taken out cause I was too tight and could not eat. Now I can eat again but am so hungry all the time. This makes no sense to me. I can't add anymore in there or I won't be able to eat but I am so hungry with what I have in there now. Any ideas?

WOW I though i was the only one confused...lol... I just had a fill and I'm tighter than I have ever been and this morning i tried eating my eggbeater sandwich and CLUNK it got stuck in my chest !! It was the most painfull thing....I guess I didn't chew enough!!! I waked it out and felt it drop  I can only eat 4 oz's at a time and I have to go slllloooow but then 2 1/2 hrs I'm hungry again!!! :tt2: so you know what !!! I EAT !!! Small Protein small bits. I know the diffrence between head hunger and real hunger. I wait until my tummy growls to know hey it;s time because I'm still trying to figure everything out.

THe hardest thing is I work out at lunch and usually blow 500 calories at the gym that Breakfast lunch and two Snacks for me. One of these days I will figure it out.

I'm glad you had some fluid removed. I did hear that it takes a few days to feel releif from what you've been through. Best of luck and congrats on your recent weight loss.

I had my fill 2 weeks ago today when I had revision surgery. It's only now in the past 3 days that I can keep anything solid down. I ate too fast and my supper came back up. TAKE IT SLOW and CHEW ALOT.

Hi all. Got laid off from my job last week. That lead to some pretty bad food choices. I am still pretty tight but have gained a few pounds. Good thing is if I straighten up what I am doing those pounds will come off in a day or two.

Other good news is that I already have a new job, this time working for a bariatric surgeon, if you can believe that. I would think that will help me to stay on target since I will be at the seminars and helping people get insurance approval for their surgery.

I'll give the MMD Challenge some thought and get back with you with my goals. I seem to have one good week surrounded by two not as good weeks....I lose a big chunk, then maintain for a while, then lose another big chunk. I am ready to be under 200 lbs and to get into nice airy pretty sundresses for spring.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
