Greetings From Massachusetts

Hello to everyone! I have been on this site for a few weeks now just reading all the threads and finally decided to join you all. It has taken me all these weeks to digest all of this new information but I am more determined now than ever to proceed down this road. I know I will not be alone because now I have all of you! I feel so well informed that I'm not sure I'll have any questions for the surgeon when I meet him later this month! Looking forward to being a part of all the success on here.

Hi Green Eyed Lady:

Welcome to the forum from a fellow Massachusetts bandster.

Any questions, feel free to send me a private message.

I'm in Norwood, MA. I was banded 7/26/07 by Dr. Adam Glasgow at Caritas Norwood Hospital. He's a terrific surgeon, nice man, and leads a great weight loss group.

Best wishes to you.

Sue

I'm also in MA and I have my first consult with the doctor and nutritionist in mid november. I'm planning on having mine done at Brigham and Women's.

Great to have you around!

Hi Green Eyed Lady,

I'm from Foxboro and will be having my surgery at the Beth Israel. This process for me has gone by quickly. I will be meeting with my surgeon Dr. Jones in 3 weeks!!! I'd be more than happy to share any of my experiences so far with you.

Best of luck with everything!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
