Ya, I'm kinda curious as to how he was able to manually flip it over....didn't it hurt? Are you still sore?

I don't know much about port-flipping since I was just banded, but isn't your port surgically sutured inside your body so this doesn't happen?

How were they able to mauallly flip it back?

well it came loose from the sutures. so he said its loose. he numbed me with lidocaine, and then used his fingers and the needle to flip it back over. the port is very easily felt through my skin. right by the surface it seems. anyway it took him like 15 minutes of manipulation to get it flipped. he just turned it using his fingers. it was weird!!! anyway. he said he knew it flipped because when i went to put the needle in the soft gel wasnt there. so he worked on it and finally got the soft gel side of the port right so to do my fill. he said now that its corrected, the coming up fills shouldnt be an issue. i asked him. do we have to surgically correct this? he said nope it will be fine. maybe its because the location they put it?? its about 5 inches from my belly button right under the port incision

My port flips too -- well it's more accurate to say it turns to the side. The problematic part for me is that the port pokes out when its sideways. I can flip it though. I can actually turn it back and forth without any pain -- just a weird feeling. My surgeon has done hundreds of lap-bands and he says I'm unique in having a port I can manually flip. One of my stitches came out I guess. It's still held in pace on one side though.

My surgeon told me today that it's harmless, but that he can go in again and sew it in place so that it doesn't poke out oddly. I'm in no rush to get surgery again, but I think I'll get it fixed someday --especially if I ever want to wear a bikini.

yes this is what happened... however now im having really bad pulling pains in the bottom part of my stomach where the port is. the nurse said if it doesnt get better by monday ill need to go get looked at to see what options. i am so worried about losing my job because going means missing work and ive used all my pto for the surgery and an emergency yesterday. ( boys and girls club gave us one days notice they were shutting down after school care) if i miss work i lose my job blah.. but my health and the band are more important to me. i can find a job at some other time but still it sucks. im hoping it resolved over the weekend.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
