I was banded on 10/16/08, and am really suffering in bandster hell -- I want to eat, but am trying REALLY hard not to go off my plan. I was just andvanced to mushies yesterday, so I"m a little nervous. But! Today, I weighed myself: I'm down over 20lbs! :) This is amazing to me after not being able to lose and gain more than 5lbs for years. Thanks for letting me have my excited rant!

Congratulations. It's so amazing isn't it? I couldn't wait to step on the scales to see what they would read next.

Seeing the weight loss should help you resist eating things you shouldn't!

Congrats on your weight loss!!!!! Keep up the good work!

I remember bandster hell. I kept my hands busy sanding a chair.

That chair is so smooth now. Take a walk or paint your nails. Do anything to keep your mind off food. You can do it!!!

Thanks everyone, for replying! yes, the 20lbs has been since I was banded, Brownskin-- isn't that Amazing? No need to apologize for the graphics, either...the hunger is subsiding now that I'm on mushies. I find that I am full on a LOT less. I actually stop eating before I feel pain or anything b/c I'm so afriad of doing something wrong to jeapordize my band/health. I've got lots of sugar free Jello (mmmmm) and ice pops. Those two things are helping me to not feel deprived. As for keeping busy, I think I'm up to going back to the gym. With just the 20lb loss, I have gotten rid of my knee and ankle pain which really was the motivating factor for me having the WLS in the first place. I love this band!

I know how you feel. I am loving this rapid weight loss ( I have lost 10 kg or 22 pounds since starting my pre op diet 4 weeks ago. 5 kg/ 11 pound since I was banded on Friday 31st of October). I am scared about starting mushies though.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
