Wow! All of you are doing so well! I think you all are an inspiration to us only in the beginning stages! Keep up the awesome job! I was apparently in denial about what size I wore. Now my size 20 pants are fitting the way that I THOUGHT they fit before. They are loose, but not loose enough to go down in size just yet. It's getting there!

I started out weighing 359 lbs at 5ft 5 inches that was a size 34 womans pants and a 4x5x top. This morning i weighed 182 and wear a 16 jeans or a snug 14 and an XL top. Ive gone from a 52 dd bra to a 42 d. and i recently had my wedding rings resized from a 9 1/2 to a 6 1/2. I still have my size 34 pants that i wore to my lapband seminar, my teenage daughter and i can stand side by side inside my old pants! I plan on trying to get down to a size 12!

KelinTX - OMG how amazing. Congratulations! I wish I had kept my outfit from that day. I totally forgot to keep my largest.

Great job everyone. Pat yourselves on the back, you totally deserve it!

I am 5'8" tall and started at 304. I was wearing size 26/28W.

I have lost about 90lbs and I am now wearing 16 and 18 (no W) bottoms and 18-22 tops, depending on the cut (still have most of my chest).

I noticed it took a long time for me to actually start dropping sizes. But now it seems as though I have to get a new size every like 15lbs.

Anyway, I started at a size 24 & now a 14/12/10 haha yeah.

My tops were 2x & now they can be a L/M/S.

Its kind of weird.

I am having some similar problems. I am losing in the boobs, around the hip joint, and in my legs a bit, but my abdomen remains the same. So do my flabby arms. So, I need larger sizes (or elastic waist/drawstring) for the bottoms to fit the tummy. I also need sleeves roomy enough for my fat arms, even though the body part is usually too big then. Try buying a coat or jacket with that issue going on! I have lost 32 bls. in just under 4 months, and I have been happy with the weight loss. I wonder if the abdominal issue has something to do with the surgery itself, or the position of the port. Anyone have an ythoughts/knowledge on that one?

Starting at 5'4" @ 352lbs was wearing 4X tops and 28W "TIGHT" slacks. Since surgery on May 19th, 2008 I am now wearing 22W slacks and 2X tops. I have lost a total of 70lbs and I would have the surgery again in a heartbeat!!

Just thought Id put this out there. I was curious to see how many sizes others have went down in connection with their weight loss.

I personally as of post have lost (after many ups and downs lol) 56 pounds.......and I'll be damned I aint changed a pant size yet.....or maybe I have I just dont realize or something. I definately know that pants that were a tad big on me before I totally cant wear, but the ones that actually fit, still fit. I havent tried a smaller size yet for fear that I might get upset.....lol.

My shirts I guess have gone down. But are still generally the same, just arent as tight as before.....dont think Ive come across anything yet that I totally cant wear......

Ive listed my sizes below

CURRENT WEIGHT:193

PANT SIZE:16

SHIRT SIZE 14/16 PRIOR SHIRT SIZE: 2X OR 18/20

i started at a 24 pant and a 26 shirt although i could fit into some 22 shirts too. ive lost 42 pounds and the 24 pants arent falling off me yet but are really baggy and obviously too big. Im not going to buy new pants until they literally fall off of me lol. I did however buy a 22 jean which fits so ive lost a pant size with all that weight..booo.... and a shirt size. i wear a 22 comfortably and could probably wear some 20s my underwear are huge now and my bras are too loose. kinda disappointing to lose 42 pounds and know im still fat enough to wear a 24. wahhhh.. but the weight will come off and im sure the lower i go the more sizes i will drop and faster. here is to hoping.

I am 5'9", pear shaped, and started at 260ish. I was wearing size 22 pants, XL/1X shirts but I think the pants were stretched out because I am now 213 and wearing brand new size 20 pants and they fit well. I am still wearing XL shirts but they are loose. I've been a little discouraged, however I am also wearing old pants that I haven't worn in many years so that makes me feel better. I am getting really close to Onederland so the size of my clothes won't matter at that milestone...

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
