Just got my date of Jan 5th. I am little worried though. I haven't gone back to my surgeon since my egd. The Gastro dr. says I have reflux and doesn't think banding is good for me. I have never met this guy before that day. Don't most of us bandsters have reflux? The wierd thing is he kept telling me just to walk an hour a day. Like I haven't already tried that!!! I go back to the surgeon nov 19. I am keeping my fingers crossed!:tongue_smilie:

Hi I have GERD very bad and I also heard about the band and people with reflux. I am getting a gastric bypass instead because I always wanted. I finaly got approved after 2 appeals (since Aug). I should have surgery in 2009 maybe January????

hey everyone - they just opened 2009 folders by the monthly support groups, we won't stay pre-op for too much longer! maybe we should move there so everyone who's jan 09 (or other 09 months) could find the group?

can't wait to be banded and looking forward to sharing our experiences! happy holidays to all of you!!:tongue_smilie:

Jan. 29th, 2008! I rushed and had everything done in like a week  in case my insurance changed but I checked into the change and it wasn't a big deal so I told them I would wait :tt2: I still need my Psych letter and PCP letter but since I have time I didn't rush them I'll have them by the 2 nd week in Jan. so its just a wait and see and lose 10-15 pounds

I have all my appointments set up and should have approval the 3rd week in March. I am excited as I can be. I can't wait until my Cub Scout Den sees me after the summer. I will probably get my surgery near the end of the Scout Year, they will think they got a new Leader. hehe.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
