That is really neat! Thanks for sharing. I will be traveling that day, but maybe they will have a replay after the live event.

I am happy to see Adjustable Gastric Banding getting more press and approvals by insurance companies. My doctor told me yesterday that the insurance companies are getting tired of all the appeals and are really coming around -- Here is CA she said that Cinga and BCBS are now approving the Band. YEAH!!!

Thanks again for sharing!

I had the rare chance to see the procedure during my OR rotation in nursing school. Watching the procedure is what made me start doing more and more research on the lap band. It is amazing to watch .I hope all get the chance. Kudos to your doc for doing the webcast..

Wow- I hope alot of you got to see it- It was really cool- I was surprized at the stitches around the band to the stomach wall & how far up they pulled on the wall. It looked like it was coming around the outside of the band alot. Very cool to see it. It also looked like a very easy operation overall. Great to see it live like that!

Thanks again BabyPhat for telling us about it!

I had to go pick up my daughter from Camp Invention at 3:30 (which is when the surgery started Central Time). So I made sure I had the website up when I left to go get her....anyway, she gets to the computer before me when we got home. She can hear the doctors talking, she wiggles the mouse and up pops this surgery!!! She ran out into the kitchen screaming, "Mom, there is the grossest thing on your computer...yuck." I told her it was the lap band surgery that I am having....she said, "then I would not look if I were you"!!! I did look (yes, I hesisated), but I am glad I checked it out since it was very interesting and does appear to be a simple process. (And it really was not gross...only to a 9 years who screams at spiders too!!!!)

Margo

Surgery Date: August 17

only 21 days to go....

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
