  1. I have been seeing Dr. Vernon for over a year now. She is ALWAYS running late. I make my appointments in the am expecting to wait for a good hour. I love her though. She is the nicest doctor I have ment to date. She has been so good. I actually have an appt with her this coming Friday. I will ask her about PS then. Thanks!
  2. Hello, I am just wondering if any of my Boston bandsters have looked into plastic surgery yet? I really want my arms done. Well, I want everything done but I will never be able to afford it. Does anyone have any doctor reccomondations? Any help is appreciated!
  3. Ms. Buttercup. I certainly feel the same way as you do a lot. Sometimes, I need to be reminded to eat. I don't get very hungry and then when I do eat the things that I am supposed to, I fill up very quick. The weight has begun to come off. I am thankful for that. I went to my stylist on Saturday and he mentioned how much my hair is falling out. That makes me want to eat more, just because my hair is my best feature. Take care!
  4. Hello, I love gift exchanges. Please sign me up for this one.
  5. Thankf for your suggestions. I ended up just taking a nap. When I woke up, the pain was gone. I never have problems taking any pills except for the ones that I must take everyday. They are not big. I wonder if they tend to give me the stuck feeling because I do break them in half. I wonder if the jagged edge is the problem?? I will invest in a pill splitter. Thanks again!!
  6. :help: I am in pain here. I feel like my pill is stuck in the back of my throat. It is causing me to dry heave (sp). I would be vomiting but I haven't anything in my stomach. I drinking a lot of Water to try to flush the pill down. It has been there for 1/2 hour. Any suggestions? I have vomitted before, however, this time it was different as nothing came up. I need this to be over real soon. Thanks for anything!!!
  7. Welcome Vickie, and good luck!!!
  8. Hi Bostongurl, I am also from Boston. I have Harvard Pilgrim and it took 2 hours for my approval. If the office has all of your ppwk in good order, there should be no problem.
  9. I smoke. I quit 2 weeks before surgery and was good for 6 months post op. However, I did start smoking again. I don't think that coughing will do any damage to your band. I have been sick with the flu and I have also had bronchitis (sp) since banding. Nothing happened to my band. Coughing sucks though. Especially when your checst starts hurting after day 2 or 3. It was not a picnic but I survived.
  10. Hi, I was banded in Boston @ Brigham & Womans. My doctor is Ashley Vernon. She is wonderful!!! It was all so easy with the whole weight management department.
  11. Hi JillN, I had my band done by Dr. Vernon last June. She is awesome!!!! Not only is she so tiny and cute, she is a great doctor and extremely friendly. I also have Harvard Pilgrim. I got a YES, the day after it was submitted. Good luck!! The psych eval is only to see if you are okay to make the decision to have surgery. I am sure that you are competant (sp).
  12. I have been on Zoloft 150mg for 2 months now. I honestly have never felt better. My depression is gone and I haven't had any anxiety either. I love it!!
  13. I was banded at the Brigham, they were wonderful!!
  14. Hi there, I was banded on 6/29/05. Live in Boston. Doing great!!! Good luck to all!
  15. I was banded on 06/29/05 and had my first fill on 8/15. I am usually fine and can eat whatever I want. I have even scheduled an appointment for a second fill because I am still hungry. There are days, like yesterday, that I cannot hold anything down. I am extremely tight and even thin liquids like water come back up. This is happened to me twice, and both on Sundays (not that that really matters)... IS this normal? I don't think that I am overfilled, I only have 1cc. Does this ever happen to anyone else?
