Congratulations, Sades, and happy bandiversary!. Those are great accomplishments (I know what it's like to hate myself, to dread buying clothes and to cancel dates because I felt too fat, so I know where you've been and where you are), which you have earned with your hard work, and I know there are more to come. Thank you for being here. Bring those photos on!

1. I dropped from a size 18 to size 14 and can wear clothes that I haven't worn in years.

2. I can climb 3 flights of stairs without hyperventilating and feeling like I'm going to have a heart attack.

3. I can look in a mirror without cringing and wondering who that is looking back at me.

Happy Bandiversdary, everyone!! Look how far we've come!!

I'll do my official "weigh-in" on the 15th - that's my Bandiversary. I have two more weeks to wow myself with how much I've lost.

Congratulations, Cindy! By the way, I'll be in NYC next month (Dec 4-17) and would love to meet a fellow Nymph - PM me if it's doable.

That's a crazy time of year for me, Bandpal, but would love to try. We usually get to NYC over the holiday break with the kids before New Year's. I'll keep those dates in mind and let you know as it gets closer.

Thanks Bandpal, it's great being part of this team! For me, it wasn't quite as severe as hating myself, just wasn't as interested in being out there, especially in the last couple of years. Funnily enough my weight hasn't stopped me going out but I have a different confidence to go with it now.

1. I went from a size 32/34 to a size 18/20

2. I love when customers come into my store and ask me if I am still the owner and then realize that I am and can't believe how awesome I look.

3. I love shopping now in any store not just Fashion Bug, Catherine's or catalogs.

I don't regret my decision to have this surgery best thing I have done for myself in a long time. Now, as I reflect on the future, I want to take the next year to get the rest off...for good. Now if I could just stop eating the Halloween candy.< /p>

Congrats to all of us for jobs well done. Keep up the great work everyone.

Cindy

Eh, screw it. The scale and I are not getting along. I don't know what my current weight is. My last weight was 172 - it'll have to do. And I'll just have to be a day early. LOL I'm in a "mood."

1. I'm in the smallest size I've been in since 1997 (size 10).

2. I feel NORMAL when I'm out and about instead of freakishly fat.

3. Haha...I'm young...Guys flirt with me now. :tongue2:

The only before clothed posed pics I had were in my security uniform, so there you have it. I'm with a new company now, so it's a different uniform. The angles are a bit different along with the pic size...but I think you can get the basic idea.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
