Hello

I am new to your forum and really enjoying reading your posts.

I have recently had a fill which was too tight and caused me to vomit my saliva every 20 minutes until 4am when i went to the emergency rooms to have some saline removed.

As I vomited so many times I am now worried that this may have caused the band to slip or to stretch the pouch.

Does any bandsters out there know if vomiting will cause this to happen?

Thank you

Chack

Many time I wondered, did I slip it or mess everything up. This thing is hard to mess up....If not I'd of busted mine up. I have made every mistake I can think of...Dont worry..Its not a delicate thing or mine isnt....If installed correctly Id say it takes a lot to move this thing!

Chack, frequent vomiting might be a culprit in some cases of band slippage, but no one can say if you have done anything to yours just now. Many people have had episodes of being too tight, even going to the ER, with no long-term effects.

Watch for symptoms, such as a suddenly increased or decreased ability to eat, reflux, pain, or anything else unusual. If there's anything that concerns you, see your doctor! They can diagnose slippage with a fluoroscopy exam.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
