How I prevent puking (related to ILLNESS, not band)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone....

I have been seeing here and there that you have to get unfilled if you get stomach flu...etc. If you are vomiting.

I have taken this for YEARS to PREVENT getting those seasonal bugs that float through the workplace...no colds and no flu. It's like I have a protective forcefield around me...everyone is dropping like flies getting sick and I am not. It strengthens your immune system.

ACIDOPHILUS 4 X 6 BILLION 60 CAPS - NOW FOODS - Code 2920

You can get it at most major grocery stores (has to be refrigerated) and it's rather cheap too. I follow the dosing instruction on the bottle but when I get in to flu season and people are getting sick around me I bump up my dose...I double the dose and take it more than once a day too.

Thought I would share...and seriously...haven't puked in YEARS. :)

Have a great day!

K

Thanks for the info.

I actually started taking [a different brand] just before surgery. I was just taking it initially to get my intestines back on track after having a ummm, diarrhea episode (sorry!). Then I figured after surgery, I should go back on them to ensure intestinal health after all the liquids, surgical fluids and meds.

I didn't know that being on them could help with intestinal illnesses. My biggest fear now is getting the stomach flu! I'll be getting a flu shot again this year too.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
