Mine advises 1 to 2 days full liquids and one day of soft food. I'm usually okay with that, but this last fill, I didn't have a problem until 2 weeks later. I was PBing every day for about 8 days. Then it eased up. I'd never had a delayed reaction before that, so I had to adapt.

I had my first fill today. My schedule is two days of full liquids (which will end up being a day and a half), two days of mushies, and then a regular diet.

After a fill my doc says liquids for 24 hrs...but after the second fill I told him...I hope you don't mind but I am going to stay on liquids for 3 days...each morning I TRY something more substantial than liquids...and that's how I know if I am ready to move on.

WOW - once again the variations are amazing! My clinic...rest of the day fluids, then normal eating the next day.

Clear liquids after the fill (regular food prior the fill) and regular liquids/protein shakes the next day- ok for regular food after that....

But they also told me to key into how I felt and ease into it if I needed to with a day of mushies. I have only had 1 fill though and #2 is tomorrow (needed desparately). After a 4oz meal I get hungry 2-3hrs later... I try to drink warm tea to ease it off... Hopefully I will have lost some more weight when I weigh in tomorrow!!!

I had my first fill yesterday and they told me I could get regular from that point on.

I guess it varies with each dr.

I usually do mushies/soups for the rest of that day and then I eat regular after that.

I've had a few pointless fills that did nothing for me so there is no way I could just do liquids. lol.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
