.....'cause I'm headed to the loosers bench....APPROVED and SCHEDULED to be banded on November 12th by Dr. Aurora Pryor. I'm at a loss for words. I'm nervous and excited at the same time!

p.s. Sorry to all who will have that cheesy reference to the 80's in their head.

WOW! I am so excited for you too!!! My surgery is scheduled for 11/11, so I can relate to how you feel. I think I am driving my co-workers nuts with all my talk about the things I read here! tee-hee.... can't seem to help myself! So... enjoy these days as I am and bask in it - we deserve it. :-)

YAY!!!

I just had my surgery last Monday (Oct. 6) and I'm doing good. I was back at work for 1/2 day on Thursday! I've already lost 19 lbs including the pre-op diet.

Good luck to you!

I'm from NC, too! I had my surgery at Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville.

Are you about to lose control? and do you like it?

Sorry, had to keep going with the lyrics.

Good luck. As Kat said, there is a wealth of information on this site; remember though there is no ONE answer to any question as everyone is just not the same as anyone else.

19 lbs?!?! that is great!!!! good for you!!!! I'm having my surgery on Oct. 30th and am taking almost a week off of work. If I am feeling up to it, I may cancel a couple of the days and go back. I am starting my pre-op liquid diet tomorrow - wish me luck!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
