preop diet day 2

Recommended Posts

and I'm so cranky. food is all I think about, and I'm so hungry.

I know this will get better, but I think I may need to call the waaaahmbulance.

My poor kiddos, I'm such a crab.

just wondering if any other smashing pumpkins are joining in my pain and general gripeiness.

Ugh! I start tomorrow. I'm dreading the two weeks of basically nothing. Tonight being my last night of a real full meal, I feel like i'm on death row having my last meal or something. I think I am starting with a bad attitude but I hope that it gets better.

I ROFLMAO at waaaahmbulance. I have taken that ride more than once.

It gets better and you start dropping weight really fast and that is very encouraging. I had to do preop 5 1/2 weeks (fatty liver) but I lost 32 pounds over that time (and most of it WAS fat, not water). It was worth every crabby minute. And in a couple days you adapt and it really isn't bad.

Hang in there! :crying:

Get out of the house. It doesn't matter if you just go stand in the front yard or something, get out. I found the hunger was pretty bad if I stayed cooped up inside, but I was able to ignore it when I got out of the house. Maybe not ignore it, but you aren't in the same building with your refrigerator :crying:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
