Not Feeling to Hot

Recommended Posts

Just curious if anyone has experience with this..

about 2 weeks ago I started having pains in my stomach, at first I thought they may be menstral pains but now that I'm actually paying attention to it, its not in the right spot to be that.

Basically I have some very uncomfortable pain on my left side, about 4-5 inches below where my incision is for my port. Its not port pain at all. its something else.. i have no idea what it could be.

It usually starts if I am in the wrong position but also if i suck my stomach in such as doing a sit up or something. I feel around and dont feel anything but that may just be because i dont feel it lol. it goes from my far side all the way to my belly button it stops at about the belly button range as far as how low the pain goes.

Its not like gas or anything like that i cant explain it.. its something different and new to me. when i take a deep breath it often hurts in the area.

shrug.. i dunno just seems weird and im going to get a fill tomorrow and i will talk to my surgeon about it but just curious if anyone has any experience with this.

Have you been checked for Diverticulitis?

Yesterday my brother was diagnosed with it, he was experiencing the exact same pain on his lower left side, he is now on aan antibiotic..it is worth going to your PCP to bechecked out ..Dont you think?

Or does it feel more like a side ache like when we were kids and ran too fast?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
