Is your starting weight 80 kg? 80 kg is only 176 pounds. How tall are you and how much do you want to lose?

BTW, how is it in Cyprus this time of year?

1 stone equals 14 pounds. 4 stones equals 56 pounds.

Anyway, I wish I had my surgery sooner. I don't think there are many on this site that started with less than 75 pounds to lose but I think almost everyone here would agree they wish they had the surgery sooner as well.

As for how long it will take to lose the weight, it's up to the individual. My doctor says the average is 1 to 2 pounds a week so if you stick to band rules you should be able to lose your weight within 6 to 12 months.

I am 4 pounds from goal at a little over 8 months out. It has come off pretty quickly for me. I also did not have a large amount to lose.

Have you always lived in Cyprus? It is such a beautiful place. I will be traveling in neighboring Turkey beginning next Friday . . . so in the same general vicinity.

Hey......I live in Israel.....were neighbors. I am waiting for my surgeon's secretary to give me a date. I am on a waiting list for now. They said within 2 months. He told me that if you don't have a lot to loss then it may take a while to get off. But, every body is diffrent and your body will shed the weight on its own pace, depending on how you eat and the restrictions of the band.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
