Hello, I'm 1 month post op

Recommended Posts

Hi, my name is Roxanne and I am from North Dakota. I am one month post op. I had my first fill today. I found out about this site from the nutritional counselor at the clinic. I am looking for other 43 year old females who are also at the same stage as I am. Would like to start a raport with you. So far things have gone well for me. I have managed to achieve one of my goals already. I am no longer taking prescription meds for high bp. I started with a beginning weight of 265lbs. I have lost 22lbs to date. I do have a great support at home since my husband did the surgery 2 years ago. He has lost 143lbs so far!! Good luck to each and every one of you!

Hey Roxi Congrats! I will be one month post-op on tomorrow and I will get a fill in the afternoon. I am sooooo excited my new way of life.

*How have you been doing since your fill?

*What were your instruction before your fill?

I called my doc office today and they told me to eat a light lunch and not to eat 3 to 4 hrs before my fill and to be on liquids for a couple of days then pureed for a few more then solids.

So I am awaiting tomorrow's excitement.

I just don't like throwing up so I hope that will not be a problem for me.

Well, I will go for now but I did want to say that sorry I am not 43 but I wanted to comment on your post LOL!

Good Luck

Hi, I'm also 1 month post op. Fill scheduled for 10/24. How do you feel? I feel like I can eat anything right now. I'm just waiting to feel that tightness everyone talks about. I've lost 21lbs but at times I feel like I'm starving. Best of luck to you!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
