I am on Day 6. I am REALLY feeling sorry for myself now. Not being able to eat and hungry all the time. I have another 8 days to go. So far my low points have been licking a french fry and cheating my having a pickel!! I have mixed the Optifast with coffee and froze it. That was a really nice treat.

My surgery is Oct 14th at Maples in Winnipeg Manitoba.

Hey TJ1,

I am also scheduled on Oct 14th at the Maples Clinic I am for 10 am. So will probably see you there. I am on my 13th day of Optifast. I have only cheated once. Just had my birthday celebrated with a shake or 3. lol.

Oh, I feel for each of you on your liquids! But I must say that you will survive - if I can go without... you'll make it. I felt as though it got easier as the days went on. Today I couldn't even have a Protein Drink - it was full liquids. Oh boy. We have a goal and we can do this.

Good luck to you.

hey...i wish i would have found this thread earlier today...i feel so guilty and stupid because i ate bad from 3pm to midnight...:)

this is my 2nd round of liquid diets:eek:. i was scheduled for surgery september 11, and i did my 10 day liquid diet and i was so pumped up for the diet, the surgery, all of it...i did really well the 1st time around...:thumbup:on september 10th my last day of the liquid diet, i found out i was pregnant after a miscarriage in 2001, and fertility drugs...super shocked, but very happy... so cancelled surgery...then we miscarried...

rescheduled surgery for october 16th...it's been hard to get my head back in the game...but i keep thinking that this is a change of lifestyle and there will be bad things happen for the rest of my life, that doen't mean i can turn to food for comfort.

so i thought i would be starting the diet on the 6th...well got a letter from doc saying to start on the 7th, i did...think i drank a gallon of chicken broth and swelled up like a tick...and then cheated today so bad. i am disgusted with myself, but my heart is not in it like it was the 1st time...but i know i have to be perfect the rest of the time, or my liver is gonna be huge...trying to get my heart back in the right mode...

do you think that my liver will shrink from right now until the 16th @ 11:00 a.m. ? i am so nervous that it won't?????

i know you all must think if i can't do a 10 day liquid diet then i couldn't possibly be ready for this surgery...but i saw the thread title and it gave me some hope...

Ugh! I'm on day two. I was SO hungry last night going to bed. I thought for sure that I was going to be STARVING this morning but I wasn't. I had my shake. I think I finally made it taste decent. I put half a banana and blended it with ice. The banana really made a difference in the flavor. I have my nutrition class today. I'm anxious about that.

One day down, nine to go.

Nayray...you can do this. I can't imagine what you are going through, but we are going to banded on the same day...and there are quite a few of us that will be on the 16th. We can all support each other and you won't need to do it alone.

Hi,

I am on liquids. Had my surgery 10/6/08, but have been on liquids since 9/23/08. Protein shakes, Jello, etc. Two more weeks to go. Really looking forward to something solid. Actually, can't wait until December when I can finally eat some chicken or turkey.

Hi, I was banded 10/6 on liquid and very little softs. I would love to be a part of a support group on here. Especially when I'm feeling I want to eat my limbs off instead of a liquid shake. I always work better with others, I feel like the lone ranger out here. I'm also getting a little discouraged since others have dropped significantly since surgery and I'm slowly plugging along. I need to shut my gob and move my hiney. Needless to say, if any of you like a pumpkin buddy, SIGN ME UP!

I'm scheduled for 10/31 and started the liquids 1 week early, which will make a total of 3 before I go. STUPID! I'm soooo hungry. I just thought I'd get a jump start, but didn't realize how very hard this is. Too late to turn back now because surgery is only 11 days away.

I'll be looking for any ideas to make this endurable. I soo enjoy the small bowl of Tomato Soup I've been having in the pm. 'Specially since it's gotten so chilly here in the Chgo area.

Hey all!!! This is day eight of liquids for me and it has not been easy i probably could suck a cheeseburger threw a straw if it was in front of me (haha). I'm scheduled for 10/29 so only six days to go. I'm realy excited but a little scared too. I have realized that if i eat something every two to three hours its not so bad. But i still wish i could have real food.

I't will be here real soon an on to a healther life for all of us. Good luck to all.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
