Hungry after 1st Fill

Recommended Posts

I just had my first fill last Thursday. I did my liquid for 2 day's then pureed for 2 days (did not cheat cause I am scarred to death my band will slip) just started solid food today. My question is I am so hungry today. I ate about 1/4 of a Breakfast burrito this morning but felt like I could have eaten the whole thing. I just want food. I am PMS'ing so thought maybe that is it but shouldn't I be eating less and filling full sooner then before the fill. What is going on? I have lost 31lbs since being banded on 8/18/08 and was doing great until today. Has anyone else felt hungry after fill or is it just PMS? I could eat all day long if I allowed myself to today but so far the will power is working and the scare factor of not wanting to hurt myself.

Um I have felt hungry the enitre process and it has shown I have not lost any weight! I have had 3 fills and nada!! I am getting frustrated I am proud of you for not eating the rest of the burrito I could have NOT done it, I am really depending upon my band to start to kick in and help just a tiny bit! I am hoping fill 4-5 will do just that!! Stay focused and you will be fine,. but hunger well that's the devil sittin on your shoulder just slap him off!!!!

I had my first fill last Monday and was on liquids for the whole day then mushies the next and finally on the third was told I could eat regular. I felt like I was starving and yes I could have ate more than I should. I don't know if it was the sudden change to liquids and mushies again or what. It has since been better but I don't really have any restriction as of yet, so hopefully the next fill will be better.

I had my first fill 2 weeks ago and I am always hungry myself and even more frustrating than that I am not losing weight. I workout 5 times a week and I am eating 2 x a day in addition to drinking my 2 Protein Drinks. My portions are about a cup and I am still not losing weight. I do have PCOS so I don't know what to do to about this. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I had the same thing happen after my first fill. I thought it was very weird and I kept telling people it was almost like it had the opposite effect from what it was supposed to do. I finally (after gaining 5 pounds) called the doctor for another fill. This one seems to be doing the trick. I lost the 5 I gained and am back to dropping again. I could not feel any restriction with the last fill. This time I do, so that's good. You may have to call at some point for another fill. Good luck to you all.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
