I realize I do have a bit of a problem with snacking.

I can't eat much at one time, so by 7:30 today I have only had about 400 calories. I am about to have Peanut Butter and crackers which will bring me up to about 600 calories.

My doctor is very strict and said ONLY eat 3 meals a day... however, since I can't eat much at one time, my three meals are not getting me much calories.

Am I snacking because I am bored or hungry? I do worry about taking in too few calories.

I had a fill 2 days ago. Also I exercised today and burned about 300 calories, so it makes sense that I'm hungry! I eat Protein first always.

Hello littlefroggy,

We were banded close to the same day, and we are close as far as the weight lose, that is so cool. I snack too, I do follow the MD instructions but I have been snacking on high Protein Bars and I figure as long as the scale keep moving backward and I am not ready to eat my arm off, then I am doing pretty damn good LOL I think each of us just have to find what work for us. I too cannot eat much at a time and I haven't had a fill yet so I wonder what it will be like after that occurs next week, we will see.

I think as long as I am losing weight, I should be fine.

Part of the issue is that I can't eat much in the morning (a few bites) and then have hardly any time to eat during the day at my job.

At lunch today for example, I had about an oz of meatloaf and was full but also I just don't always have time to eat for very long. I tried to rush to get in some veggies but got a sort of stuck feeling.

I am able to eat a lot more in the evening, so my "snacking" could be simply my regular eating? Who knows!

Froggy, are you measuring and logging your food to make sure of your calorie intake? If not, please try doing that. I use fitday.com and many other people use dailyplate.com. I don't think being that low on calories is good. I eat 4 times a day about a cup of food each time. I try to keep my calories between 1000-1200 per day. I don't think it is healthy to have only 600 calories per day. Please check on that. I was banded a month before you, but I am still losing, just slowly: 1-2 lbs per week now. BUT, I am eating, not getting sick and I am enjoying eating. I will probably go for another fill in a month.

I agree about getting in enough calories. My doctor said 3 oz, 3x a day, and 800-1000 calories.

Well, there isn't a food I have tried and like that is more than 200 calories for 3 oz.

For example, my chicken salad is 160 calories for 3 oz. I have had some shredded bbq pork, and that's 90 calories for 2 oz. My meatloaf that I like is about 120 for 1 serving! I also like eggs, egg salad, grilled chicken, etc. All of that is low fat and low calories.

So I am getting lots of Protein but not enough calories! I track on calorieking.com and am keeping track of everything I eat.

The only days I get more than 1000 calories is if I eat something unhealthy!

Geez, I am sorry. One thing that also helps me when I am low on calories for a day is drinking skim milk. I even like to have nonfat caramel mochas from Starbucks. I get them with sf caramel and 1/2 the pumps of mocha and no whip. They give me an extra 220 calories and and 17 g of Protein. My daughter loves the banana chocolate vivannos from there. Tasty also and about 250 calories and 22g protein. Try something like that. They taste better than regular protein drinks:smile2: Good Luck!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
