surgery date nov 3

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I am new to this but here I go.

I am finished with all my test and will have my

surgery on nov 3. I am excited but also nervous. It took me a year to make this decision, last xmas eve I was at the table with

my family and extended family and made the decision, just like that and I never looked back. So here I am 38 days to go and I can't believe it went so fast.

Hi and welcome to LBT! My band date is October 27th and I am getting really excited. I didn't even know about weight loss surgery until 2 years ago and I made up my mind then, but at that time our insurance didn't cover it. SO ~ as of April of 2007 they started to cover gastric banding and here I am! I am looking forward to starting a new life!

Good Luck on your journey!!

Hi everyone,

i was banded sept 4,08 and have no regrets. It was the best thing i ever could have done for myself. As a single mother for so many years, i neglected my needs. Put my kids first. Always my kids first. No regrets for that either because they are both grown and doing very well. I've lost 17 lbs and my clothes are getting loose and the confidence is starting to go through the roof. Yoohoo!!!!!! Good luck all

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
