Hi Everyone~I am one of your typical "chunky" kids that finally grew up and was able to do something about it. I started looking into Lap Band and Bariatric surgery in general back in 2005. I was able to start my monthly Dr visit in August of 2007. In April of 2007, my insurance actually started covering Lap Band instead of gastric bypass, so this was a great feeling.I was able to have my surgery October 27, 2008 about one year later. As of today, I am down officially 65 lbs. and I have about 4.5 cc in my band. I am still loosing little by little and I am taking it one day at a time. I do have to say that I am finally able to enjoy living my life and the little things like bending over tying my shoes with out getting out of breath!
