Today is the day -

Recommended Posts

Well I made it through the night, slept a couple hours. I thought I wouldn't make it with the Clear liquids, but I was wrong. I couldn't even drink what I was allowed.

Today is the most important day in my life, the end of a long journey. I have had some hurdles to overcome, but I have faced each one. Sometimes with tears, sometimes with anger, but always with a Samurai on my shoulder.

I am so ready for this new page in my life. When next you hear from me I will be a member of the elite "Banded". Honestly, I can't wait. There might be pain, but in the end, there will be health and a longer, better life. I am ready to shead this fat coccoon and emerge a butterfly.

Here's to the new me  Debbie

Congratulations

This is going to be an awesome journey. Over the next few months you are going to meet the confident healthy slim woman that is inside. During the process there will be some ups and downs. Luckily that means your self esteem goes up, and the scale goes down.

You are also going to learn who your true friends are, there will be support from unexpected places. You will make new friends as you begin a new chapter. You will have so much more energy that you will discover more hours in each day.

The band was the single best decision I have made, I no longer take meds for diabetes and cholesterol, and I can go to the store and buy pants that are size 6 or size 4. (okay, that sounded shallow, but trust me it is a thrilling experience).

Welcome to bandland Debbie, you are going to do great !

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
