My last fill - 2.4cc in my 4cc band

Recommended Posts

Hey!

I just wanted to share this with everyone briefly - my last fill was on 8/22 - my fill doctor increased my band from 2.0cc to 2.4cc. I did wonderful in the office and for the first 2.5 weeks - but approaching the 3rd week anniversary - the band became very tight. I had to return to liquids after failing at solids & mushies - it lasted for about 5 days. I kept my hydration going and stuck with it - after reading some similar issues on the forum - I felt it would pass.

As of yesterday evening - amazingly enough the band loosen a bit and I am back to solids! Whew! I almost threw in the towel and had some of the saline removed (or unfilled).

This being the first year of life with the lapband - I can only imagine - patience and perseverance is factor! I am continually growing with each day and retraining my brain on healthy choices and what really is enough to consume. It seems the tongue always wants more!

Thanks for listening!

Christina

thanks for the info! This happened to me also! you would think after the first week post fill you wouldn't experience the "overfill" sensation! Glad to know I am not the only one exsperiencing this! i was a little worried for a while! Keep up the good work!

Christina . you are doing great. I have 2.8 in my 4cc band. I too had a similar experience although I didnt quite have to go to liquids. I just had to be careful with what I ate for a few days. Then it went back to normal.

Its hard keeping on track but at least the band makes it so you really cant overeat like before.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
