_________________________

As of today I have lost just over 100 pounds (the equivalent in weight to all of the above, according to a previous thread on this board). Thank you to all of you for your friendship, your support and your presence on this amazing journey that we are all on together.

I've got another 35 pounds to go before reaching my goal. I've started walking and have registered to work out in our local fitness center- did it the right way, took a stress test and got my GP's OK. My next immediate weight goal would be losing another 6 pounds, which would put my BMI below the obese level. Not being obese... wow, less than a year ago I couldn't even dream of it.

My tastes and habits continue to change. The sight of french toast at Breakfast grossed me out today, and I had no problem sitting at the table with guests last night and watching everyone else chow down on home-made pizza. And at night, I'm willing to pop the occasional sleeping pill (also, on my doc's okay) rather than stay up late and fight the Battle of the Binge.

Wishing you all a good week out there and thanking you all again,

Love,

Edited by bandpal

Thanks Wendy, I really appreciate your friendliness and encouragement. I'm close to that "overweight, not obese" goal myself, that's going to be a sweet one. Let us know when you get there!

All the best,

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
