Not for the queasy, an inside view of my band

Recommended Posts

Ok I was going to post this under another thread but thought some might miss it and it is sort of cool. I had my gall bladder out in July and the Dr took a picture of my gallbladder as well as my band. So, here it is in all its glory. The lower left view is the band the other views are my gallbladder (sorry I couldn't seperate them). Hope you enjoy!!

Maybe I don't know what to look for, but I don't see a picture or a link here.

Wow that is really cool. I wish I had some pictures. My surgeon discovered how to do a laproscopic removal of the gallbladder through the vagina. Do you think that would have been less painful? I have no clue about gallbladder removal. lol

That's neat, I saw someone post one shortly after my surgery, so I called my doc to see if I could get pics. They acted like I was a special person for asking hehehehe. No luck for me

I got my pics today. I made my surgeon feel bad because I started crying when I saw all the fat in the picture. :cursing: I just didn't think it would be so much some how. I'm okay now, it was just a shock. He told me everyone has fat there and was really supportive and concerned. But the good news is, as he mentioned, that's the past and why I got the band and now we think about the future.

Very cool. I got a DVD with a video of my surgery. Also very cool, but not for the squeamish.

Thanks for sharing and for the warning (not for the queasy ) which I am not, but I am sure there are others who could not stomach the pics. I thought they were fascinating and only wish I had pics of my own !

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
