Hi there all. My name is Cheryl and I was banded on 8/18/08 in Gainseville, Florida. I am 5'7" and weighed 275 before starting my pre-op diet and 262 day of my surgery. Surgery went very well and I was down to 255 at my first week follow-up.

I am to have my first fill on 9/16/08. My doctors post-op diet is nill. I am able to eat whatever I can tolerate. I am trying to be good because I want this to be a new way of life for me. I can not tolerate bread, which I see as a blessing. I am still very hungry and am anxious for my first fill.

Thanks for listening and I hope to talk to you soon.:)

the more Protein you drink the less hungry you will be. my first fiill is sept 11 i've done pretty good so far i realize this is not a miracle fix and have started to vacumn pack healthy vegatables , made up turkey patties and froze them and other foods to have stuff done up and quick to grab after work . even though i could still stuff myself i don't this is my last chance to get the weight off so i will be trying to behave. food shouldn't have that kind of power over me, i need to get a grip !!!!!

Thank you for Chatting. I'm a bit confused about how to actually get into a conversation. There are so many places to go on this site.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
