Milk of Mag worked over the Lactulose?? hmm, I would have thought it would have been the other way around lol. Make sure you bring that up to Jeannie though. I was taking, oh Im drawing a blank on what I was taking, its a powder that you can not taste.. Anyway, they said it is ok for a little while, but dont want us taking stimulants. One reason is our body will get used to them and then we will be on them the rest of our lives. UGH my grandma was laxative dependent..I dont know if M.O.M (milk of mag) is a stimulant or not though Hey whatever works :)

See you at the meeting Monday :hurray:

I emailed Jeannie last week about it, but havent heard anything from her.

I didnt take any of the M.O.M last night. I figured I'd just wait for a few more days since im not as miserable after taking it all weekend. Maybe she'll get back with me before I end up miserable again.

See ya Monday! How did the meeting go last night?

I wonder if now that things are moving, if you should start up on lactulose again. See what Jeannie says. I sent her an email a week or so ago and I havent heard anything back from her either.

Last night meeting went very well. I think there were 3 of us who have had the lap band 5 who have had bypass and then just 1 checking things out. Everyone told their stories and we could all relate with each other. It was nice. They are going to have them every 3rd monday of the month at 6:30 at the library

Hello, Surgery went good and I have been doing well. I still have an issue with a little bit of gas in the morning but overall doing ok. I am tired of broth and taking it easy by walking around. I am glad it is raining so I will not miss playing golf as much.

The meeting was cancelled on Monday is there going to be a make up date and time.

Another question I have is that I begin mushie stage on Friday, my girlfriend was wanting to cook me something and she was wondering if she can take lean ground turkey/beef and fry it up then run it through a food processer to cut up even more when done and add it to gravy?

We have support group tonight at 6.. As for the mushies, sounds like that would be fine just be careful make sure it is good and soft.. is the the puree stage or the soft? puree, just make sure it is good and blended, you could feed it to a baby. Be careful, dont push it and enjoy :blushing:

The other question I forgot to ask Kaplan was about Exercise. When do I go back to a regular workout? I have been walking some lightly in the park but that is about it.

sounds like you are doing very well if you are thinking about exercise. Dr Kaplan told me I could start teaching zumba and line dancing again in 2 weeks. I did and didn't have much trouble just very tired.

I used to go to the Family Fitness Center but it has been quite awhile.

I now do Zumba on Tuesday nights, Linedancing Wed & Thursdays.

How are you doing with your surgery? Will you be at the meeting on Monday?

I am doing good with it. I had my first fill last Monday. I found out the hard way that I had to be careful with dry foods now that I don't have any drinks with meals. I choked a little on a dry piece of chicken.

I will be at the meeting Monday, I will play golf early that day.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
