most carbs seem to be the slider foods I stay away from, Shin is Protein protein protein if I ate chicken 3 times a day and only 4 ounces he'd be happy, unfortunately I'm still trying to learn to like chicken.

the turkey weenies are 3 gms each so thats 6 if I do 2 the red meat has 0 so I'm within my carb amount.

I just got off the phone with GNC and they had one product with 60 gms of protein 250 cals. and since we females supposedly don't absorb it as well looks like I'll be staying with the bullets and just have to push myself to remember to drink them I do think I might possibly add cottage cheese once I check out the label (hoping its bad but am assuming its not)

my weight loss has basically just been steady, for me when I got the first 30 off it allowed me to exercise which even though I'm kind of limited was something I've none of in over 4 yrs due to other problems.....I think thats why I've lost more than I expected to at this point. When I saw him last I wasn't as tired or I'm sure it would of been addressed, in the mean time if I have to add some calories to make up the protein then so be it. I would add another half of a bullit if remembering it in the first place wasn't so hard for me LOL...he did make it clear to expect my weight loss to become much slower now especially since I'm not really able to wisely increase my exercising

having to go through the diet twice shows a lot of strength and determination on your part. Which is what it takes to make the band work. Try not to worry you'll be at your parents house in no time starving to death. LOL You'll be fine, when your able post and let us know how your doing, I'll be thinking of you

Im having problems with Constipation. They have me on lactulose and it is HORRID! Jeannie upped me to double the dosage and it still isnt working. UGH!!!!!!!! That stuff takes so awful....it makes me nauscious even thinking about it!

Im also having a problem getting enough calories in...im averaging 600-700/day. Lindsey said I had to at least shoot for 1000/day. Its really hard though....

Welcome to the world of constipation! LOL.. Are you mixing your lactulose with anything? I put mine in juice and dont even taste it. Mom puts hers in Tea and it just makes it sweeter. Now, the question is, is yours the green one? If so, I refuse to take that one and demand the unflavored from the pharmacy. I take 10cc nightly and that keeps me going. It will take a couple days to get you moving again.

Mine looks like its yellowish...im not sure I'd call it green. I havent tried putting it in anything to take.

It really doesnt work for me. Im taking 2 large medicine cups full and all it does is make me bloated and gasey. (Lovely!!)

HAHAHA Elephant Farts! I think EVERYONE that takes it has that problem at first. Once your body gets used to it, it isnt as bad. How long have you been taking it now?

The yellowish color is the "unflavored" kind. Mix it in at least 8oz of something. I tried to take 10cc in a 4 oz drink once and I still tasted it. Like I said, I do juice at night and dont taste it at all. My cousin who doesnt have the band but is on it mixes hers with Crystal Light and she said she doesnt taste it in that either. Good luck. LOL, once you get rid of the "plug" it wont stop lol.. just kidding. Gotta love this topic, but I think 99% of the lapband people go through it

I've been on it for 6-7 weeks now. I'd think it would've began working by now.

I will try putting it in something. It is horrid alone.

These are not fun times. I have found that since I increased the vegetables I'm not have the problems with Constipation. Of course you have to get things moving first. Drink lots and lots of Water.< /p>

I started eating Fiber one for Breakfast every day when things like fiber choice and splenda with fiber didn't work. It seemed to be enough to push me over, also they sell Magnesium Citrate Oral Solution, I had to drink a bottle then with the fiber one have stayed pretty regular.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
